Would you mind letting me know how was able to bring one one? While few come up for sale here, at $65k they are out of my price range. If it was possible to import from overseas then that opens up the possibility.

Lets see if we can do some work with this:-
No need for actual "names" just use your log-on if you wish....bike type, frame No. and just Country also....or region....not looking for Addresses of course

Spare Frames would also be good to add...just so we know they arent full bikes

There are currently 4 Vdues for Sale in the UK alone at the moment...all at Dealers...most are "zero" miles....and various injection or carbed or a pure Track Trofeo model...all under 20K GBP.....Still steep...but not as steep as in Oz...

Number now added...and heres the ones in the UK currently for sale

Ex Trofeo Bike...said to be zero miles...evidently for track use only as no road going gear...no Price yet as its not arrived at their place yet

http://www.madeinitalymotorcycles.com/Stock%20List%20.htm

This place said they had a carbed and injection model...but now only injected model left

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bimota-500-Vdue-Ducati-Mv-Agusta-Aprilia-Moto-Guzzi-/281603291121?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4190dd37f1

This one the dealers a big ignorant...gives no details on the bike other than 46Kms on the clock...but its evidently an original injected model...

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201503201906808/sort/default/usedbikes/make/bimota/channel/bikes/page/1/radius/1500/postcode/m333jw?logcode=p

And this dealer has a standard injection Vdue also, zero miles...and at 20K...just listed his site hear as he doesnt seem bothered to advertise it for some reason...he does have a fair few Bims just in from Italy though..

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bimota-TESI-1D-SR-SUPER-RARE-/201285490946?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2edd8cd902

pictures of his Vdue and Tesi and a dodgy SB8R are here on BImotaClassics Facebook page

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=366692190207118&set=gm.1601255840090541&type=1&theater

Pricewise - all around the 20K GBP mark...but mainly coz one dealer listed at that price...then 3 other dealers found zero model examples and listed at same price...regardless of whether they are carbed or original injected untouched versions...evidently either valuing the bike regardless...or just ignorant theres any great difference.......

20K doesn't seem bad really, although converted to USD it's ugly.

Really, my problem is I don't think I can get these things imported at all anymore, the U.S. really tightened up regulations.

It is very difficult, if not prohibitively expensive, to get something like a VDue registered in Australia.

Does anyone know an easy way to do it for post-'89 bikes?

Any bike can be registered under the personal import scheme, but you had to have lived overseas and owned the bike overseas for one year. This is probably how the odd Bimota gets registered in Australia.

Yeh exchange rates can make a bike for sale in one country viable...yet in another not so....evidently UK rates doing well against euro and dollar...although importing from US would only be viable if a bike was VERY cheap...as shipping and tax and duty would apply.....whereas bikes from Italy, germany etc is very viable...currently a good exchange rate....less than $600 for a courier to collect and deliver....and currently very easy to register a 2-stroke in the UK....as they dont test emissions on a 2-stroke...as the oil screws up their machines and costs 1,000's to put right apparently...simple fact....not really an issue as theres no new 2-strokes being made...and any new registrations for such are really just collectors bikes and ones that will only come out ocassionally....not like we're all going to use them for commuting...so I suppose a "sensible" approach is being taken....

Hi guys, Justin from South Africa. I am very fortunate to be the new owner of a Evoluzione Corsa, with zero km on the clock, well that mileage thing is a bit of a curse really... maybe one day I will put mileage on her. My goal is to rather find another, one day.

I know of another collector in South Africa who is rumoured to have the Trofeo that was prepared for Anthony Gobert to race in the cup series, and another. That makes a total of 3 in South Africa. I will ask if he is willing to share some more details.
