|
|
i looked at a few you tube vids of v-due bikes
there is one on a dyno and you can see the rotor it must have a clear cover on and everytime the revs built up the rotor housing fills with gear box oil .
so i looked at mine and there is a big hole from gearbox streight into the back of the roter ? why ?
and there is a gap between the rotor housing where it connects to the generator /flywheel housing ?
is it right they fill up with oil ?
its just ive not seen this on any other bikes ,why are they like that
how can pickups work in the oil ?
why would you want oil in your generator ?
it sort of answers the question i posted about the vents on the covers .
can anyone explain please i feel a bit retarded thinking about this .
thanks in advance Gary |

You will find that most if not all alternators on motorcycles are in oil. There is a bearing behind the alternator that likes a bit of a sip of oil now and again. The sensors be it magnetic or hall effect work fine in an oil atmosphere as well. Any motor with EFI have these sensors |
