Hi chaps, another test of your talents. Posted a question last year re sprockets for DB10 I understood that the rear sprocket was the same as Cagiva 1000 Raptor, ordered a Renthal sprocket, happy days. However I have tried to fit the sprocket today and it is nothing like the rear sprocket on the Bimota. The dimensions of the DB10 rear sprocket is: 6 x bolt holes, internal ID =81mm Distance across centres for the bolt holes 110mm, distance between bolt holes 50mm. The new sprocket for Cagiva 1000 2001 - 2004 is 6 x bolt holes, internal ID =118mm Distance across centres for the bolt holes 140mm, distance between bolt holes 70mm. Any one got any suggestions? I have I purchased the wrong year of Raptor sprocket?
If any one needs a sprocket for a Cagiva Raptor please let me know.
Regards Glen |

Just an update for info, I have been in touch with B&C Express who supply sprockets and chains in the UK. They are saying that there is no record of any manufacturer making a sprocket of the dimensions I have sent them!!!
I will try and get the rear wheel of it this weekend to measure it correctly.
I am taking the bike to the Manchester show next week I will be taking some verniers with me, to have a measure up on some of the other Bims. |

Hi Glen...had a quick search on Ebay.it ...and Ebay.de....the italian and german ebay sites....got no hits on sprockets from any
Theres always the Amore Moto dealer in the UK...who'll be at the Mcr show on a stand also....or the German dealers like DRT....who arent listing DB10's....but do list rear sprockets for Db5/Db6 and DB7...which are supposed to be the same.......but no prices on their website either....Calipers to the ready at the show then really...see if you can match up to one of the bikes on the stand...

Hi Glen
thought I would try and help you out as I may be partly- responsible for the wear on the current sprocket
Does the DB10 run on PVM wheels?
520 chain ?
6 x 10mm mounting studs?
If you can answer yes to the above questions, you want a JTA2070 aluminium rear sprocket, available with a choice of 38/40/41/42/43/44/45/46 teeth.
Sprocket dimensions are 80mm i/d, 6 bolt fixing with a PCD of 110mm.
Contact Jim at Bike Alert PLC, tel # 01322 526 236 option #3 (technical).
you can thank me at the show............ _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.

Thanks to you all for your input.
GeeKay that sounds like the sprocket, I will have a measure up this weekend, I measured the ID at 81mm but that is holding the vernier against the outside for the sprocket, so I may be out by 1mm the rest seems to fit. I am unsure of the wheels though is PVM a make or style. I would imagine that the least I can do is get you all a coffee at the show. I somehow don't believe that your quick scamp on the bike has anything to do with the wear on the sprocket, I suspect that it is the idiot who has been riding it for past 18 months. Not done bad though it has clocked up over 8000 miles.
Once again thanks to all. |

Hi Glen
you won't find the JTA7020 listed in JT's catalogue as it is a racing sprocket. Really doesn't matter if your bike runs PVM wheels or not - that was just some of the info I received. If your 6 mounting bolts / studs are 10mm, I'm pretty sure that it is the right sprocket for your bike.
Looking forwards to seeing you and your bike at Manchester. _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.

Hi GeeKay,
Thanks for the heads up re the sprocket, I looked on their website and could not find it. I will contact them on Monday and get it ordered, I have taken the rear wheel out and re-measured the sprocket, 80mm ID and PCD of 110 (What is PCD?) sorry for being a schmuck. Looking forward to catching up with all of you at the show. See that you collect motorcycles. Just bought a bike I had when I was 18 years old Kawasaki Z1A. It has stood the test of time like myself therefore is need of extensive renovation. Should keep me busy for a little while. See you at the show.

Hi Glen
PCD = Pitch Circle Diameter.
PVM is a brand of wheel.
As I said in my previous post - the sprocket is not listed as a stock item as it is primarily for racing, not road, bikes.
Bike Alert do have them on the shelf.
Z1A - that'll keep you busy / poor _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.
