could use an assist on replacing the bulbs that are burnt out. i see the little plastic caps on the back of the cluster, and i can see a what looks like a phillips head screw (but doesn't fit a phillips head screwdriver) but not sure how to get at the bulbs. didn't want to attempt an unscrew in case that was the wrong approach.
assist please.
thanks. _________________ pete |

Mk2 you need to take the clocks off ... its probably the same with the Mk1 _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Use a large flat blade screwdriver to turn the cap a quarter of a turn and then the bulb will drop out. The bad news is that the bulb and holder look to be one piece, so you probably won't be sourcing new ones from your local spares shop.
Good luck. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

ok...i can rotate the screw as you mentioned, but how the hell is one to get it out? the access hole is about the same size as the bulb assembly. if i turn it upside down I am afraid it will end up in the back of the clock and i'll never get it out....i can't believe Bimota would be this stupid to not allow access to change a bulb, but then again you have to drop the engine to change a sprocket. _________________ pete |

To be fair, these clocks will not have been made by Bimota and with limited production there wouldn't have been much scope to get them improved. Once you've turned the cap a quarter turn, just turn the clocks upside down and the bulb will drop out, or not, as you've correctly deduced But, as I say, I wouldn't bank on finding any new ones. Perhaps try Bimota Classics. Failing that, chuck the clocks in the bin and put a decent set on. But, be warned, you haven't got a lot of loom to play with. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |
