Well so far I know BimotaNIge is going on his KB1....and theres a lad from Oldham whos marshalling on a light blue Bellaria YB9.........
Then of course going out this Friday and coming back Monday and Tuesday is this pair.......So keep a look out for trails of smoke followed by a van full of parts and spanners....we'll mostly be visiting all of the petrol stations on the island so keep an eye open for us...
Fresh plugs and a fresh clutch fitted to mine....lot happier with its pulling away ability now...

Have a blast and don't worry about the carbon footprint.
It is a necessary evil you must perform to make smoke on the mountain.
Pictures on return please. |

My boots have Zero carbon in them....so no worries about the footprint there for me Pictures and stories will be following return from Island....their internet ability/coverage over there is pure pants...some emails and even text messages took over 4 weeks to make their destination on 4G last time I was there....would have been quicker to employ a pidgeon...... |

Looking brand new Nige....it always did though so what have you done to it this time as I know you had it stripped down?
Vdue has been undergoing some maintenance ahead of her forthcoming trip to the Isle of Man...mostly for peace of mind, spark plugs changed out....much better starting now...Clutch replaced...old plates had glazed over and hill starts and rushing to the front of the lights were all beyond it....all back to as good as new now.....and gearbox oil changed out also ....old stuff was still looking good to be honest but its only cost a litre of oil.....even the magnetic sump plug had zero swarf on it...so I can rest easy again now
Micro tent, Space wrap inflatable bed and sleeping bag all bunjie roped onto Tail piece...just clothes to pack in back pack...whoever said Vdues werent a practical form of transport.........
and a few of the HEath robinson contrptions to get 900ml of oil back into the obscure hidden Oil filler plug.....stuffed a litre in but then open the "window" bolt and remove and always 100ml comes back out......takes an eternity to fill up......

Cant do that Nige......Last time I went to the Chemists to get syringes to bleed off brake fluid etc....theres no way they believed what I wanted to use them for...espeically when I asked if they had any LARGER ones I could have....They also asked about needles...to which I said "Nah...dont need any of them" so they must have thought I was sharing needles also....wont be going back to that Chemists for a LONG time....... |

Hi Guys.....Safely back from the recent visit to the Isle of Man for the Manx Classic Grand Prix....initial thoughts are that I enjoyed it more than the TT "Proper"...all the usual suspects of famed riders were there, but it has to be said that the sights and moreover the sounds of the classic bikes going round the track blew away that of more modern machinery......place was quieter, albeit still busy....and the car parks and bikes outside hotels comprised of a greater variety of classics than could ever be expected.......anyhow...enough of the words...its pictures we like....and the island was full of two strokes....which was the choice of steed as far as Bimotas go for 2 of us that made t there and back safely, Also seen on the island were a UK regd Sb6, BimotaNige and his KB1 and there was a marshall there on a YB9 Bellaria.....so as per the norm...scant spattering of Bims.....just as we like
Friday rock up for the Ferry from Liverpool To Douglas....Vdue was first in line and already casuing controversy..."What engines in that Mate?"...99% of all questions start that way as folk impart their one piece of Bimota knowledge, but alas to no avail with a Vdue as it was Bimotas one and only bike with their own engine....
Enough words...pictures time.....
Ferry of Choice...the Mannanan.....biker heaven and hell....
Bags and backpacks dropped off at accommodation
First stop off at the pits....mostly closed for racers and bikes to assemble
and the sun has come out to shine so its first run of the track and a short break at ballough bridge whilst waiting for the "support truck and pit crew" to play catch up....for what would be the first of many waiting and catch-ups....

Further up from Ballough Bridge.....and suddenly Vort loses all gears on his Vdue and coasts to a halt with clutch pulled in.........rapid roadside check completed and it appears one of his "prescious" titanium 4mm bolts has worked free of the gear rod linkage and successfully escaped ........
Fortunately theres always a large bunch of bikers on the island that rush to a stricken bikers aide at a moments notice to produce a large tin of random bolts, p clips you name it..."Just empty it out on the pavement" they declare...."What size you need?"....4mm?????????....the metric was almost beyond the boys with Brit classic BSA's and AJS's etc...but 4mm???? who uses bolts that small????.....
P clip inserted and on to Ramsey and parliament square for viewing stage of practice and parade lap.....Coffee time and "lets draw a crowd"...always a sure fired event with 2 No. Vdues parked up....and success...local old fashined Ironmongery shop stocked 4mm bolts, although Vort didnt push on whether they supplied them in Titanium anodised black to match all his other bolts......Thus 20pence later back up with a full set of gears...
Pit girl crew refreshed with milky frappe latte smoothie thingies...and nicely attired in Bimota hats and T-shirts....getting them into the run of things at an early age..Just when are Bimota going to sponser us for all this free advertising we hand out for them? ?????
I hope everyone is noticing Vorts recent change of wheels from his Gold ally dymags to nice shiney new Carbon fibre dymags????...and he also has nice shiney red mirrors to match mine also......

Another day, and yet again its sunny and dry....surely cant continue....been dry for 3 whole days....its a Sunday....so its up to the Bungalow for my first visit this trip...en route to Jurby for the VMCC rally and racing at the Jurby Festival...an event with over 10,000 visitors....about 9,999 of them on motorbikes........
After waiting for the "crewbus" and Vorts out of kilter with mine "fuel stop".....we moved on from the bungalow to be brought to a halt by a plume of black smoke ascending from a recent incident........A ducati 848 german rider and a brit on board a Yamaha YZF-R6 unfortunately came to a timely end in a head on collision mid bend....another rider on a Ducati 600 also injured....our hearts and thought and condolences go out to all those involved and their family and friends....... |
