Hi Guys,
I am after some advice, careful now!
Ok I have a quandary, I bought my YB4 a long time ago way; back in 2004 actually.
The last time I used her was in 2010. So the likelihood of me using her again is remote.
Therefore I would like to pass her on to someone else.
I obviously know how much I bought her for, but how much to sell for; this is the question?
I am not greedy and in many ways who she goes too is just as important as price.
So if you have any thoughts on this please do let me know.

A YB4 can race in Golden Era type events because its a homo goblin bike.
Very collectable as a result

Not many for sale, one in Germany for 12000€.

Looked at mobile.de and it is actually in Cadiz Spain?
Looks ok but is it a scam I ask myself, priced competitively to get interested, send me a deposit etc?

Problem is Bimota's are not on 99% of peoples radar so they are generally worth more to you/us than they are worth to the rest of the biking world.
Not saying this is correct, but the way it seems to be.
Recently sold a 1997 SB6 , good condition etc etc, anyway got £6.5k for it . Bloke had also recently bought a GSXR11 , he paid nearly the same for that as the SB6 ???!!!??? Shocked

Which is the better bike ? which has got a BETTER classic status ??????
What people are willing to pay is a strange thing, and Bimota's exclusivity is one of its greatest downfalls . Very few for sale so people have no idea of a price.
As for the YB4 , I have no idea either . Sorry.

Taking everything into account I would accept offers over £10k and a good home.

If your YB4 was $10,000 US and on my side of the pond, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

A few years back, a YB4 was sold on eBay out of New York. Never registered so never ridden so perfect condition. Seems it went for somewhere in the mid-teens. Or maybe that was the starting bid and it went for more. I remember because I wanted it so bad.

In my opinion (not worth much) the YB4 is the most collectible of all Bimotas because Bimota won World Superbike with the YB4 in 1987, piloted by Virginio Ferrari.

First motorcycle with a perimeter frame, a design that is now used by essentially every Japanese-type superbike.

Start the bidding high and lower the price if you have to. That's a rare and valuable work of art you are selling.

Thank you all for your advice.
I have set what I think is a fair price, offers over £10k GBP.
Which I think is great value for money considering other bikes currently on offer.
SB3 £14k, V due £20k and YB11 £7k.
Let us see what happens

Part of the key of getting a fair price (market value) is patience. It's always easier to sell a gsxr11 than a Bimota? Why? Lots of factors. Maybe a buyer is afraid of parts availability. Maybe they don't know what sets a Bimota apart. Maybe they're not willing to spend the extra $.
When I found my DB5, the guy had been trying to sell off and on for 2 years. My SB8R had been for sale for almost a year.
There is a buyer out there for your bike. Maybe he just doesn't know it today. Maybe 5 months from now, the Bimota fairy will tap him. Ding. And there you go.
