Hello Tim,
we have the DB8 here at the shop, but you are NOT the owner.
Please remove this post as you have no rights in promoting the sale of this particular bike.
If you have any question, please contact me, thanks.

Yeh....I'd delete the post... But hard to say who's genuine....and seeing as the first post linked direct to the dealer...I can't see anyone sending $80,000 to a Nigerian bank account of the "supposed " owner....

I thought the same thing Brian did. That shop is only about 77 miles from me. Maybe I'll have to take a ride down there. Per a Yelp blurb:

"Newport Italian is a factory dealer for Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio and Vespa and has a service dept., sells parts and bikes. It is located at 1536 Newport Blvd., Newport Beach, CA 92627."

They do have some "brand new" Bimotas for sale so maybe I should stop by for a photo-op. I could always trade in the DB6 on a fully outfitted Vespa... Cool

Certainly appears that one of these chaps is not above board, but which one? Tim posted this same for sale post in the 'bikes for sale' section in June.

So come on Timmy and Newportitalian... lets get it cleared up Rolling Eyes

Well, we shipped the Bimota here in SoCal from Ohio and we've been dealing with the real owner, whose name is NOT Tim. The CycleTrader listing is the right one, but we do not know who this Tim is...
Of course you can believe what you want, the real owner pointed this post out to us in order to clarify things and you could send Tim $80,000, but we will not release the bike Wink

For quikduk, concerning the other Bimotas, they will be here at the shop in 3-4 weeks.

All well and good to all thats posted folks....and I'm sure no-one in even their Wrong mind would part with such funds without physically having the bike and paperwork handed over......Seeing as all folk that have have listed the bike or complained that its wrong are all newbies to the Forum...the only fair way I could deal with this is to delete all posts on this issue?? Fair do's??

Not sure if its a fun read but newbies vouching for newbies doesn't mean that much to me. Anyone could add a profile and say whatever they like.

Advice i received early on when it came to buying something is if there is any doubt walk away and that has served me well over the years.

Unfortunately with overseas purchases, you have to hand over he cash before picking the bike up. It can be difficult to determine if they are genuine seller.

Luckily I found my Bimota in a bike shop in Germany so that made me more comfortable, and I sent them the cash based on the photos they provided. All good.

I guess if you keep asking for more photos of the bike, you can judge if the seller really has the bike in their possession. It's hard when you're super keen to buy that Bimota you've been looking for for years, but yeah, if it doesn't feel right, sometimes you just have to walk away.
