clearly there's a nice a nice oil level window to check, (as per the exhaustive owners handbook!) with bike upright and level but WHEN?

-Cold?
-Warm straight after turn off?
-Turn off and leave 10 mins? 20 mins?

What's the concensus here?

Seeing as Overfilling can be bad as well as low oil level....I lean towards checking between the oil lines when dead cold...as in not started that day....Duc engines have quite a few oil lines and pathways in the heads...and take quite some time to drain down. If its hot and you'd forgotten to check....just be sure that you wait half an hour or so and that its above the minimum line and it would be fine not to top up....theres only around half a litre difference between Max and min anyhow
