|

So I see that some V-dues have bolts in every second rivet - like this:
http://www.carsbase.com/photo/Bimota-500_Vdue_mp110_pic_22858.jpg
Mine has in every rivet.
I am kinda surprised that this was the 'engineering solution' someone (Piero?) choose for this bike, to get the dash working, considering the attention to detail in other places.
Has someone tried to address this issue and come up with something safer?
Even lock-nuts come loose from time to time, and I'm afraid it will be fatal for my fork leg if one of these bolt come out at speed.
EDIT: I see the YB11 has them too ...

Hi That's spooky as I have noticed exactly the same thing on my bike over the weekend after having a really good look at it.
My left disc or nearside has a nut and bolt on every hole where the right hand disc is a traditional floating disc, initially I though it may have been a something not quite right or maybe for the speedo to run off but will be interested to see what every one else thinks?
Thanks

It is there for the speedo alright, but IMO it's an unsafe and poorly executed engineering solution for sure |

Mine has floaters both sides, but is running the speedo from the rear disc.
How else can you tell how fast your wheelying. |

Agree it is a little worrying if they were to come loose and look poor as well |

By fitting a speedo healer it must be possible to pick up the signal from another source, and recalibrate it...... |

I have seen both set ups and only know 2 vdues that have every other bolt , both of these bikes have wild speedo's I believe.
I would have thought if Piero could simply and cheaply modify to 1 pickup , he would have done it.
Don't know if you have noticed but brembo made special disc's for the vdue, they have 1 more rivet in them than standard Brembo disc's.
Standard disc 9 rivets
Vdue disc. 10 rivets.

I hadn't noticed ... I wonder if that is a speedo related choice too, or what the reason could be. |

If I read this correct, on page 34 of the pdf, it seems the bolts and nuts are numbers 9 and 10.

However I still think I will try to pursue a better solution for this ... |
