Hi all,

After a few years keeping distance to Bimota bikes I bought a DB5 for use on race tracks.
First impressions on the SACHSENRING last week are not bad, but there is a lot to learn / change for me to become a "fast unit" with this bike.
Comming weekend I will spend two days with this DB5 on the race track in OSCHERSLEBEN.

My Bimota-History over the last 15 years:
*BB1 Biposto (new out of the box)
*SB7
*SB6
*BB1 Monoposto

I am from the area around Hannover / North-West Germany.

Welcome to the forum Ralf. It will be interesting to see how you get on and develop the DB5 as a track bike. Great picture too Cool

Hi all,
Just came back from two days on Oschersleben Racetrack.
Excellent conditions in any way (incl. weather!).

Racing a DB5 on this track was great fun . . . a few 140PS+ bikes now have an idea how a DB5 sounds during overtaking and how a DB5 looks from the back.

Next track days for the Bim will be in two weeks in GROSS DOELLN, north of Berlin: Again for two days.

Welcome, and glad you're enjoying the bike.

Any thoughts on changes now you've had a couple of outings?

Hi waggytee,

Some changes are on my list:
*rider has to reduce weight during winter season . . .
*change of rear tire before next visit on race track (Michelin Power CUP Evo).
*some improvements in bikes wiring loom (gps-driven speedo).

Thats it for the moment.

Bike performes very well.
Gasoline consumption incredibly high for a two-walve engine: ca. 10l per 100km

Thats about right on the Fuel consumption for that bike/engine.....especially if you are only using it on the track.....evidently the "losing weight" element would help further....but then I'm in the same club as you in that respect..... Embarassed Embarassed

Welcome to the DB5 ranks!
My bike gets great fuel mileage when cruising, but when really on the gas it does drop precipitously!
I like the bodywork you have, where is it from?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Bodywork: This bike was build as a racer by an italian company called ROS MOTO.

Please see first photo, second bike from the right side.

By the way: The Michelin Power Cup tires . . . very good stuff!

End of season!
Perfect weather . . . no rain, not too hot.
Met Jörg with his db2 on GrossDoelln-Racetrack, north of Berlin, Germany.

Enjoy!
