Hi all, I have just loined the forum, just had to after comments and banter about "guests". To introduce myself, I have a '96 YB11, bought hammered in '99 with about 9000 km on the clock, took lots of sweat to repair it in this country. It now has about 30000 km on it. I have owned 53 bikes to date, have 8 at present. More about that later. I am looking for a DB2 and/or DB4, in (almost) any condition as long as they any complete. Any leads will be greatly appreciated.
I have 2 YB11 queries if someone can offer advice please:
What airfilter can be used to replace the original? I have had some info from the States on how to modify the airbox to take some K&N filter, which is not available in this country anyway.
My rev counter works as sporadically as a government employee (in this counrty anyway). I have had the instrument checked, no problem there. Any ideas where to look next please.
Regards

Hi
I think the K&N that is suitable is a KA-0800 (from some mid 70s Kawasaki), assuming it is the same as the Dieci. You should be able to order one from the USA to be sent to SA I would think (price might sting).
All the best

Alan,
Keith is right about the era. That is what fit in mine with little fuss.
Even a stock Kawasaki is better than that FIAAM.
All the same for:
1980 KAWASAKI KZ1000E 1000 - All
1979 KAWASAKI KZ1000E 1000 - All
1975 KAWASAKI KZ400S 400 - All
1975 KAWASAKI KZ400D 400 - All
1974 KAWASAKI KZ400D 400 - All
I have the jetting very close with noticeably more power than before.
Regarding clocks. I traced a problem with mine to a bad capacitor which caused a voltage ripple interrupting it timing circuits in the clocks. It initiated at redline or anytime I applied the brakes. Not sure if this is the same thing and I know your cluster is a little different than mine.
