Hey there old friends!

It surely has been a while....
I was caught robbing a bank, to feed my BIMOTA addiction.........LOL. (not really)...

I am at my wits end. My turn signals stopped blinking....SOOOOO, I took apart my left bar switch and it exploded in my hands and I cannot recover a small spring....it took off into oblivion...LOL, never to be seen again...

I am wondering if anyone knows what bike used this switch as OEM. I tried a Suzuki switch but does not have the same connectors, although it does resemble, but not exactly, the switch that came on the bike.

Please, if someone could be kind enough to steer me in the right direction, I would have a debt of gratitude...

Respectfully,

Tom

OOOOPs ....Dumbassitosis! It is a 1998 SB6R

Hello bimota-rider

The waterproof connector was put on by Bimota, so you will not find a switch set with that connector to allow plug & play. I suspect the switch may have been off an early Fireblade. If you can find one, you can tease the pins out of the connectors on both sides, having noted what connects to what and then put the original loom-side (probably female) pins straight into a waterproof connector, which you'll find on the Bay and likewise with the male pins to the other side of the connector. Be careful not to butcher the pins as you are getting them out. A small latch holds each pin in place, which can be accessed with a jeweller's screwdriver. You need to prise the white pin guide out of each side of the connector, before you can access the latches.

Good luck!

Sorry, should have said you will have to cut the pins off your new switch set and replace with the male pins from the new waterproof connector/s.

Thanks Jonny,
I have the tool that will make quick work of the wire removal, left over from my days of repairing Porches and Bimmers. I'm not sure my hands are steady enough anymore and will, without a doubt, skewer myself in the process, LOL! It will be just a matter of how many times. (c:

So, let me get this straight...Bimota = Suzuki, Ducati, and now Honda?....figures. Shocked

Serves me right, thinking there may be an easy way to repair my Bimota...

Look out surgery table, here I come.

Man, it feels good to be back.

Thank you again....CHEERS!

Usually it's the plastic locator that snaps on these so the switch turns on the bar when you put the choke on.

How much are replacements ?

Hey Chicken,

The turn signal switch that I bought set me back $160.00 USD..... Shocked

I WILL make it work.

And then, I will tackle the initial problem by replacing the $5.00 USD flasher that started me down this God-forsaken road....LOL
