Great answer gents!

Finally, something easy to find.....

Brian, your comment reminded me of when I was asked...

"Got any naked pictures of your wife?"
"No" I replied....
"Do you want any?"

EC , I know that some vdues came with the SB8 swing arm , not sure if standard vdue is same as 6R or not.
Only difference I am aware of between vdue standard and SB8 is the rear were the wheel adjuasters are is 6mm wider.

Why you looking at fitting an SB8 ?

Is an sb6r the same as an sb6 ?

The 6R swingarm is braced ... that's to say the arm on the shock side is deeper and includes the linkage pivot.
I though hey its something to do, bolt in the 6R arm and see what difference it makes .... foolishly I got the arm znd then though the linkage pivot looks different, which it is.

Sooooo now I guess I need to either get hold of a 6R linkage or get one copied. My only plus point is it's getting colder and maybe somebody is looking to have their shock rebuilt maybe they could have the linkage copied at the same time ???

The SB8 and VDUE use a similar arm but the shock is in a different place so the linkages are too far away from the Six to help.

Yes - although it's a VDue arm, I belive the 6R, V-Due and SB8 arms are common, the linkages are different. Originally I thought the SB8 was similar based on a fuzzy picture but found a clearer image.

OK - I've a had bit of a think about this and in order to mount the arm onto my SB6 I'm going to need the shock linkage and tie bar / dog bone, those parts are coming in roughly double the outlay of the arm.

Then to mount the wheel I'll need spacers and a spindle (more messing around rather than cost ) but the clincher I think is the break calliper hanger. Lastly there's bearings, nutserts and polishing (my frame is polished) and it comes to a whole lot of tyres and petrol.

I'll get some pics together over the weekend and put the arm in the for sale section, any interest let me know, its a race arm so probably stronger than the road part. There's also a hugger I've repaired. Its a shame but sometimes I need to be practical
