Hello fellow Bimotatisti!
I would like to suggest a new section for this forum, dedicated to photos of our Bimotas out on the road (or track) in the course of our rides - a means to see not just our bikes but also the different countries in which we live and a way to give each other inspiration to get out and use these machines that we love. An album of our favourite bikes in our favourite places.
For this to work, is there any way a feature can be added to make it simple to post photos directly onto the site? I know site admin would sooner be riding bikes or fiddling with bikes but there must be a means to do this and it would make a great forum even better!
What do you guys think??
Tomorrow I'm getting my DB2 out in the autumn sun and I'll take some pics to start the ball rolling...
Hoping we can make this happen!

Hello again, I've got some photos to upload if someone would be kind enough to help me with that. I'm afraid they're only on my tablet so I would have to email them to you.
Amongst other things they show the screen that I eventually adopted/adapted - an msr speedscreen cut to fit neatly to the top of the headlight and fixed with home made alloy brackets to the original mounting points on the spider... Much trial and error and head scratching later...
I'm reasonably happy with it, the msr stuff is excellent quality and the riding position is nice and sporty but comfy too. _________________ 1998 Bimota DB2 edizione finale naked

if you go to the index and look on the DB1 thread you will see a thread "My DB1" it's a ton of laughs, but it deals with me finally learning how to post photos. My advice is start with a 6 pack of good quality lager, but start the photobucket account before you start drinking. Then to transfer from photobucket to the site is not so difficult.
Sorry that is not so detailed, but although I can do it, I find it hard to explain how. The beer does help. |

There's a couple threads on how to post pics, but yes, best way is to upload to a photo bucket account first.
If you like you can email them to me and I'll post them for you

Thanks very much to the both of you. Hopefully will email photos to Brian, but one of these days I'll get the beers in and try to master the uploading process myself.
I'm sure there'd be loads more photos from members if it could be made a one click process. Most other forums seem to manage that. Not wanting to criticise - the work of forum admin is much appreciated. _________________ 1998 Bimota DB2 edizione finale naked

I agree mate. It's still tricky even for those who know how to do it.
I'm happy to post up for you _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Big thank you to Brian. Cheers Mate!
Any other members from different countries with photos they can post? It's a multinational forum (and the best!) and I'd like to see pics from where you live and ride.
Have a good day wherever you are.

Hi there tvrrich - she's no. 064, frame no. 715, registered new in the UK in 1998. Originally with the full fairing. All components are original except Keihin Fcr 41 carbs, Bimota carbon silencers, DP carbon clutch cover, Ignitech programmable ignition, Talon Engineering modified cush drive ( a weak point as standard) and obviously the cockpit screen and handlebars.
2Bims - there's no airbox! 2 big cylindrical K&Ns just squeeze in. What you can see is a temporary plywood (!) plate to relocate the coils more discreetly behind the headstock. Eventually the fuel pump will go up there too. I tried running without the ugly/heavy fuel pump but no go. I love those carbs! Great response, fantastic intake noise, idles at 800 rpm and usually gives 60+mpg on fast runs. Who needs efi?

60 to the gallon????....Must be all downhill where you live...I have the same carbs, albeit with a big bore 944cc kit thrown in and stage 2 cams...but 25-30 is about the average for my bike....dont have a programmable ignition on it so maybe thats the clue.....
Strange that you've relocated the coils up there....did you not have the standard Ducati plate that they would have been originally on together with Kokusan ignition packs...that bolted to recessed sockets on front frame rail between the outer frame spars?
Interested to know what mods went on with the cush drive....yup...the original fitted Oscom wheels had a habit of snapping the cush drive studs that were bolted into the wheel hub...later mods were to overbore the threads and fit larger bolts....so what did Talon do differently? |

Yeah I doubted the fuel consumption too at first but I always fill up and zero the odometer so I get an accurate figure and fairly rapid (70 - 100 mph) riding on twisty roads gives 55 - 65 mpg. Too gear motorway cruising at 90-100 gives 60-70 mpg. No kidding! Final drive is 15/37.
Re the cush drive, I knew something wasn't right when I saw aluminium filings on the chain. The r/wheel sprocket moved several mm side to side and when I stripped it down the studs in the wheel hub were all loose with stripped threads. Talon bored out the holes and put in steel inserts - sorted. Great company down in Yeovil Somerset. _________________ 1998 Bimota DB2 edizione finale naked
