Hi Paul here again. I now need help with the Marzocchi forks on my DB8.Has anyone played with softer springs/oil level/halving as I'm only getting 1/2 to 2/3 travel after hitting big bumps at speed that should bottom them out. Too stiff! Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks Paul

There are companies like Matrix that offer new internals/springs for the Marzocchi RAC forks like yours....the standards again are set hard from the factory...heard good reports but expensive...Marzocchi themselves are no longer around though as they shut up shop due to not making a profit.....

Suspension is pretty hard as standard but does respond well to a bit of twiddling on the adjusters.

Will try to find my settings.

But as a start had to soften all the setting when I got mine, back shock had about 5mm of SAG , think I had to wind that back a fair bit and low speed adjustment is on about its softest.
Is still a tight /firm ride but far better than is was from new.

These are VERY focused bikes and will always feel firm due to the minimal seat padding and rigid carbon seat unit.

Hello"......I went the Matris way....cost about 800 gbp and better than cosmetic surgery.

Base suspension only really works if you are 19 stone in weight,
otherwise it is like the bucking bronco at the circus

Good luck...

Hi Coco -with the matris fork kit did it perform as it should for the price and it what ways did it improve the front end.Im putting a Ohlins on the rear as you cannot ride a motorcycle as quick as these 1198 without correction set up.Im just wondering about softer fork springs/revalue or the Matris kit.Any advice would be appreciated
Regards Paul

Marzzochi was bought by parts manufacturer VRM and they continuing with motorcycle program

On contrary like some journalist wrote about Marzzochi forks in DB7/8, I have very good experience with them. They are on top level on the road or racetrack... They just need precise setting...
