Hi Guys
Greetings from sunny Brisbane Australia. I am about to embark on my Bimota ownership journey so have joined up to read -up on the tips and trials, highs and lows of Bimota ownership. I am currently looking at a YB7 (which seems to have the common issue of missing its inidcators), an SB6 and a DB4. I have a few other bikes in the shed and my other half thinks I have a problem - me I just like motorbikes. With the SB6 and the DB4 I have versions of both the engine donor bikes so am quite interested to see the difference. I'll post when I get myslef organised and get one of them in the shed.
Cheers
Pkay

Hi play....and welcome to the forum....quite a varied choice you're lining up there.....There's another forum member on here in Oz with an SB6 and db4.....have a db4 Meself....a very underrated bike, comfy for a bimota, lighter and handles better than say a Duc 900ss....or a monster which is where the engine comes from. As ducati 900ss was an ie at that time and Bimota wanted a carbed engine....Unless you're looking at a twin seat db4ie that is....they respond well to a kelvin flat slide care kit, tuning etc... Frame and suspension is well up to match power increases if needed....plastics on db4 can get fragile over this time, so check for cracks, breaks etc...good luck...

Hi Pkay and welcome to the forum. Are the DB4 and SB6 that you refer to, the ones currently on bikesales.com? Bimotas are fairly rare in Australia and go for fairly good money. They usually take a looong time to sell though. There's another DB4 for sale at present as well, but I'd be wary of its history, I can give more detail on it if you message me.

I own both SB6 and DB4 and can give my opinion on both if you're interested.

I did a bit of a comparo thread on them a while I go and will post the link if I can find it

My email address is in my profile

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Guys
Thanks for the welcome.
Yes Brian they are the ones on Bikeslaes. The SB6 seems great but the low KM's to me are not a selling feature so find myself a bit yeah naaaaa. Will mull it over over Xmas turkey.
The DB4 is the one on the Sunshine Coast not the other one on Justauto with the aftermarket exhaust.
The YB4 sold on eBay and had too many bits missing to make me confident enough to buy it. I bought another bike from the seller some time ago and his view of ready to ride and mine are a little divergent to say the least - but I knew this and $4750 seemed a good price bits missing or not.
They do seem to come up quite regularly for rare bikes. I have a few other bikes in the shed so I've enough to keep me more than busy until the right bike comes up.

The one on just auto is local to me and I know the owner. Been for sale for a long time. There is another DB4 for sale in NSW which Ithe one that I was referring to.

The one on the Sunny coast looks fairly good
