Gentlefolk,

A VERY big thank you goes out from me, Gavin on an Island in the Thames, to the men from the land downunder.

I have been trying for over 28 months to buy a DB7-11 VLX and although promised, by BIMOTA it never came through.
Next up I said "sod it ..I'm Scottish..I'll build my own"....only to be dismissed at every door, from the UK to USA and from the Phillipines to Australia.
Each and every Sprintex Supercharger supplier, dismissed my attempts and even the manufacturer refused to speak to me.

UNTIL I managed to get an Australian to butter them up.
Good old DJT77 from the forum has pulled it off....he secured all the parts based on my fag packet sketches...handled-brokered the deal and stuck it on a plane.

Yesterday ......it landed (albeit I had to pay the UK customs nearly 200GBP in duty and enterprise tax)
...the UK government do not want you to be enterprising.

....there is a knife in the second....it is reference to WEED....if it all gets too much... I'll use the knife.

I will be starting a thread of the build
...but it down to the man from OZ ....many many thanks

Okay".......here we go,

The supercharger arrived as you can see , in the images above, but a curse had been placed on it by...I think, Weed......it was seized.

The supercharger was sent back from the UK to Oz and they made a new one
Maybe the mileage was too much on the old one......Oz to UK and back to Oz again!
Anyway the new one was put on a plane by forum member DJT77 and set over ....it landed yesterday.

Should be in the land of Essex soon...where the girls are tall but the morals low.
A build thread will be developed soon as the engine has been stripped and rebuilt with the PTO...
hereafter called PTO for power take off....tractors have these just in front of the engine.

A lot of research has gone into the design and strangely enough my final design is the second from last on the VeeTwo designs.
...don't know if that is good or bad....but I am incorporating a clutch pulley to stop the engine braking causing issues through the belts and pulleys as the Supercharger runs at about 15000 rpm and carries a fair bit of inertia

Started smoking again...not the engine...me...the garage is full of French fag some...apologies to the Americans out there.
..translates to French cigarette smoke...used to always cause a stir when I said .....when working the states...

'One last fag before bed'

Anyway....images are ready....almost ready to test the engine.

Can't really see the point in starting a new thread...might as well just bolt on from here......see you soon

Regards
Gavin

Ahhh...Katy,
Now there's a Leading question.... if ever I heard one!

But to truthfull I am not interested in the power uplift.
..I have embarked on this simply because I heard the 'Actual ' one at Bimota and secondly because they, the factory, lied
and did not fulfil their offer to sell me the mule or make another one.......so, the real real is the sound and the engineering aspect.

In the same way ...it is there..it has to be done.

And...I am fortunate enough to have secured most of the parts and have access to CNC machines and men in suede aprons.

Hope to report back soon with images and text.......although that 2bims has gone and Brain is out cruising .
..I may have to find someone helpful to post the pictures..
....any takers GeeKay?

Regards

Gavin

Hi

Sounds like a lot of work, but then I know various people who have turboed bikes Laughing

Are you lowering the compression?

Email me the pics and I can host them

All the best

Katy

Katy"....I am not lowering the compression or indeed carrying out any engine modification.
I am following, exactly, the same path as BIMOTA, on their DB7-11VLX conconversion.
There is little point trying to re invent the wheel and to add a bit of factory back up .
I am consulting with Davide Commandini...now self employed and working on a freelance basis
...the very man who developed the DB11VLX.

The supercharger was picked up from the Post Office clearing section this morning and now it is the time to start the build

Many thanks for the offer of hosting posting the images....
can you pm with a email address and I will start sending images and text from next Thursday/Friday.

Thanks
Gavin
