Hi All,

Apparently Bimota are doing a last run of 45 units and calling it the final edition, has any else seen this?

I'm tempted to put a deposit down but information is thin on the ground!

The last I heard was that they were going to "complete" the ltd edition run of 40 No. "Annivesary" Editions...of the Tesi....spelt incorrectly as it is on the frame sticker on the Omega plates....now word as yet if theyre going to correct the spelling mistake......They made 18 of the run of 40....with black frames and swingers...and black anodised omega plates....and Ducati had the rest of the engines to complete the run but hadn't been paid so didn't release them...

Bimota themselves have restarted their Facebook page and published photos of 2 of them being built.....with one guy entrusted to make them.....colour scheme shows Black and silver tanks...Naked biposto versions with handlebars...Black and silver seems to mimic Goberts race winning SB8K....But not sure if all will be like this....

I think with Kawasakis money there should be more financial solidity....Signature Moto down south are taking deposits....and I presume that Ben Wylie of Amore Moto near Whitchurch would do so also...Given Nortons recent plight and loss of deposits you may feel better to trust deposits with a dealer than factory direct??

No idea on price though....but I reckon £30,000....as the GBP still isn't so great against the Euro...and they are being made in Italy.....I think Paolo Girotti of BimotaClassicParts still has frame no. 001 of the Annivesary editions for sale....that was at a Dealers in Aberdeen...then sold at Auction at Excel Bike show in London...to a UK dealer....who was trying to sell it....I enquired...and then he realised it had never been registered or "nova'd" and thus VAT hadn't been paid on the bike...then it appeared in Italy at BCP....At least if buying from a UK dealer you could fix a price in GBP...for a "road registered and tax paid" model....delivered....If paying deposits by credit card...remember....they only guarantee the money for insurance for 3 months after payment...after than youre on your own....I suspect more than 3 months for delivery...but only enquiring and talking will tell you

Think you'll find that 'deposits' is a very minor part of the Norton issues and plenty of people have / had paid in full with nothing (as yet) to show or had bikes / parts stolen........all allegedly of course

Indeed......I was moreover referencing previous "bimota" issues....where people put large deposits down up to £20K on ….Tesi3D's......and then paid 2nd instalment.....or monies on alleged DB11 Superchargers being "made"......and then for everything to go very quiet....or be fed fake photos of "alleged" construction of your very bike being made...albeit said photos were old archive pictures...all to perpetuate the myth that something was happening at the factory...when in reality no one was working there...and all parts left over had been squirelled away to the land of cheese and triangular chocolate....A person had £20K down.....but on Credit card so insured....checked dates...Oops...over 3months had passed since making deposit...insurance lapse....Fortunately for the punters...the dealers paid back....
Norton.....latest this week was he was due in court on Tuesday to face the Pensions regulator over the 2 NO. "Norton" pension schemes he had set up for other folk to entrust their lives savings into...one poor fellow cashed in £250K of his pension to Norton.....Mr Garner was "sole trustee" of both pension schemes......complaints made to Ombudsman...date set for the Sole Trustee to answer where monies are....Guess who didn't show up for questioning?

3x pension schemes in total......

Seems a leopard never changes his spots judging by the "spondon debacle'

Have popped a thread in General to save cluttering this

I wonder if these Final Edition versions will include the Final Suspension system as used on the 3D Cafe Racer or will they be like the Anniversary set up.

Would be nice to know as it may add even more kudos the final suspension model.

regards

Gavin

2Bims: Interesting and unsurprising that they only delivered 18.

Due to Bimota being unable to count past 20 using their toes and fingers, I happen to have Serial number 38 of the alleged 40. At the time of paying the deposit, I asked for serial number 40 but was told that it had been sold/allocated.

Apparently, nothing is ever as it seems in the back blocks of Rimini.

ps... and yes they did spell Anniversary incorrectly. I never noticed until you pointed it out. Now it cannot be unseen. Sad

Probably the same guy who failed to tighten up my steering system was in charge of making the stickers.
