On his Facebook Page he shows roughly 100 of the books turning up at his place...so he defo has them......bit of a shame, but it is his business...that he charges 50% more than you can buy direct from the publisher....it was Giuseppi Morri's Facebook page (the MO in BIMOTA) that alerted me to the published price and discount of price to that of 80% of the published price.....I spoke via messenger quite a bit to Morri re the book before it was published...trying to get an English version done over here in Blighty...But...he had sold the rights to his story and the book to the publisher....he gave me quite detailed description of the contents and he missed a few tricks...theres no Historic register of current owners and Frame numbers taken from the Swiss Bimota Register....which is what they did with the 25 years book, courtesy of Manuel Nunez....theres no archive of sales brochures...and its 2/3rds to 3/4's a story compared to pictures....Not that much use if No speaki Italiano........... |

Yeah, sort of a bummer about the book. The way it was heralded, I thought this would be a nice addition to the "bible". Oh well, win some...loose some... FWIW, my motorcycle side of a library is weak so this will at least give it some visual volume
Paolo did respond very quickly to my inquiry. Should start shipping next week. _________________ 1991 Bimota YB10

I ordered my copy from Amazon.IT (used Google translate!)... they've been good to keep me informed...been emailed to tell me it's on its way, due 4 June...fingers x'd....will report back. I have the Sarti bible, so interested to see how this compares in content (and the bible is a keeper!). _________________ Bellaria (owned from new 1991), only one left after emigrating from UK. Mine should ship Monday. Received an update from Paolo with a DHL tracking number. So much drama around this book, I hope that it will be at least half worth it... And yes, I would buy the english version if it ever becomes available.
It seems that Bimota popularity is just as strong outside of Italy, if not stronger. So its strange why not publish this book in English.... _________________ 1991 Bimota YB10

I would definitely be interested in English version. It would be an awesome addition to my Bimota Bible that I have _________________ 2016 Suzuki GSXR750 TRACK BIKE

Received my copy from Amazon.IT. Whilst not in any way as comprehensive as the Sarti bible it is the next best thing for us Bimota fans, as it has quite a lot of interesting archival photos. OK it's written in Italian (should have paid attention in those Latin classes, tee hee), but I'd still say it's worth the money for a specialist book. _________________ Bellaria (owned from new 1991), only one left after emigrating from UK. Just ordered mine today. Should get it before the end of the month. A question for those of you that have already received your copy. Are there many photos from the 70's and 80's? Any information on the SB2's or KB2's? Looking forward to getting my copy!

HEres a few extracts from the book....is supposed to list and have pictures of every model ever made...including the very rare one-off early race models....Patten Bimotas...Harley D Bimotas...etc etc...click on one of the small pictures of the book and it expands into a short few sections extracted from the book....

Don't blame you....if you can physically see one..and touch it...the wallet is sure to follow...with that back up subconscious thought..."Heck...at least I'm saving on the postage..."....And on the return flight you have a handy book to pretend to read and look learned....just ocassionally time yourself and flick the pages....murmering quietly to yourself..."Bella...Bellisimo...." |

Had a lovely day at the Stafford Classic Bike Show yesterday....perfect dry weather not to hot and a light breeze....some wonderful bikes up for auction also.
Just one Bimota down there....a YB10 dieci for sale at £8K by a dealer.
I wandered around the whole show.....asking for Bimota related paraphernalia....be it pin badges, T-shirts, literature or some other tat....I felt like J. R. Priestley looking for a copy of "fly Fishing"...as stand after stand said..."No..Sorry...I have nothing"...
I did manage to pick up a Santa Monica Sales brochure A4 opening up to a double double sheet of 8 sides of glorious Colour....and then...at my final visit to a stand....a Dutch company.....that reached under the desk....as it wasn't on display anywhere.......
An Italian Language version of :-
L'era d'oro BIMOTA
The Gold that is Bimota
Its actually a wonderful book FULL of colour photos....and includes the Enture range of Bimotas ever made...all the way through the coverage of the Original Bible....SB1, YB1 etc to YB11 and SB8 etc....and then moves onto DB5 through to DB11 and DBX
It also includes and the first time that I've seen it....the production run of the newer bikes, BB3 DB5R, DB6R, DB6, DB7, Oro Nero etc etc....
SO....for bragging rights down at your local bike meet...or to just bore your family and friends...if anyone wants to know just how many bikes of a particular Model Bimota actually made....then just post up on here the year and EXACT model of your bike and I'll let you know....it even goes into detail re Twin spark Ducati engine models for say the DB5R or the EVO engine DB5R which has only one spark plug per cylinder....and thus the visible spark plus on the DS engines on the RHS aren't there
A couple of snippets to Whet your appetite
DB10 Super motard - Total production - Just 33 Examples were ever made
DBX Supercrosser - Total Production - Just 16 Examples were made
DB11 - 1200cc - - Total Production - Just 8 Examples were Made
BB3 1000cc - Total Production - 26 Examples were made
Time is limited on myself providing the info...as I've actually promised the Book to another on here....and he might charge me for actually reading the book and fingering thru the Virgin pages......likewise the Santa sales brochure is going to another on here....so I ended up bringing home a slightly tired retro Kawasaki T-shirt for myself. BooHoo....
Apologies for you missing you again Katy/Admin.....met your other half who was patiently waiting on the Peter James insurance stand.....Did you make the cakes for the Vincent stand? I was cheeky enough to eat one of them, very nice indeed, so, if you made them, then thanks.... |

Well I do "freelance" as a Snooker Masters Referee....so the obligatory wearing of virgin Egyptian Cotton high thread count twill gloves is always used when handling Rare Bimota items of "unobtainium" of course....Mind you....knowing that you share the same "diet" as myself...you wouldn't be objectionable to a few greasey Fish and Chip and salt and vinegar finger print marks here and there.....or some Pie and Pea stains??....reminiscent of your last meal perhaps??? |

Hiya
I saw the Dieci on Friday night. Glanced around and suddenly thought something looked familiar.
It is up for £7k on their web site. Thought it was a bit cheaper at the show:-
https://www.fastline.co.uk/search_page.php?make=566
Overall nice condition. Carbon pipe. Japanese import hence kmh speedo. Front indicators not quite right (they are more flattened than the originals). Rear indicators non original. Rear mudguard cut down. Seat remade not brilliantly. But bodywork looks generally good, forks look good, not too much play in the disks, still got the original master cylinders and lacquer starting to crack on the front wheel.
Probably a reasonable buy.
Charlotte did mention she saw you when you went to the Peter James stand. Yes I made the cakes. There were 78 made on Friday night and another 39 on Saturday (half the ones on Friday night were a vegan cake recipe for a change - could almost claim to be healthy). They were there to be eaten.
I resisted buying much. Some nitrile gloves, a few spare exhaust springs and some GT85.
The FZ750 outside for £695 looked like a bit of a bargain. Generally all there but tatty. Top faring broken and screen missing, but the bit was still there on the fairing and the screen should be easy to replace. Seat split, but that is easy enough to repair and a good excuse to reshape the seat so it no longer performs like an instrument of torture.
We went over to Duxford on Sunday.
All the best

I have the original book by Sarti, apparently there was not enough interest in the English language version published to warrant an english version of the latest, which I purchased recently from Bimota Classic Parts.
Despite this it is still quite informative, and I am trying to learn Italian anyway |
