You should be proud Steve..............
Continuing Bimota's R & D single handedly
I think the problem is possibly the dreaded lack of use syndrome which a lot of Bimota's suffer
Good luck and you know it'll be worth it when it's sorted |

That was certainly the start of the problem, but having had the carbs completely serviced including all new floats and mechanisms, re jetted etc had hoped it would last more than 40 miles and or 6 weeks, since it had lasted 3 years with no problems at all. Oh well the joys of ownership. |

Steve, are you using fuel with high ethanol content - just a thought as it may be rotting the rubber sealing tips of the float needles. A lot of the older bikes are beginning to get this problem. May be worth changing. I always try to use fuel with low ethanol content nige |

Don't think I'll go the injection route! As for the fuel rotting the needle tip, they looked ok when I had the carbs apart, but good thought. Think this time it may just be some muck in there, but since I paid the tuners to do the job I don't want to muck around with the carbs in case it's something they've done that's at fault. Once it's sorted I think I'll probably look to sell it, it needs someone who'll lavish more time on it than I do |

Soz to hear your problem Steve. It does sound an easy fix by VDue standards. Have you tried a fuel pressure regulator? Can't hurt to fit one, at least you'll be sure of your Fuel Pressure. It might be too high and upsetting the floats.
Regarding Suzuki TL1000R tuning vs Bimota I have got a dynoed 130bhp at back wheel on the box standard gobert with road legal exhausts and standard filter. Quite good for a 2001 twin surely... |

It's no biggie, and it's always run well in the time I've owned it except for recently, so clearly there's nothing much wrong with it. It's just a bit frustrating |

pity about that Steve -once its sorted its fine as mine has proven and I basically put fuel and oil in and away we go. It must be the floats or needle as the fuel cant get through the carb any other way?? very strange. Is the breather pipe clear for the tank as that would pressurise the system slightly and could cause the fuel to flow through the carbs?? |

Breather seems okay. Will report back in a week or so once it's all sorted. |
