Just changed the plugs and she is running rich... My temp gauge has stopped working a while so it occurred to me.....
Could the temperature sensor have failed and would this be linked in to the ecu and be telling it the engine is cold and thus causing it to run rich?
And if it has and is, anybody know if a replacement is easily sourced?

It certainly is possible depending on
a) If the sensor has failed or
b) the temp gauge has failed.
If the sensor has failed the ECU will go into default mode for that sensor which will be in the ECU programming & what that default mode is. The default mode could be low engine temp setting (which will cause rich running) or normal road use setting (which shouldn't).
The engine temp sensor should be available from a Yamaha dealer without to much of a problem
