You've got me started now and I may struggle to shut up until everybody's fallen asleep! This bike was designed to benefit from a ram-air effect. However, whilst all of the 6Rs I've come across seem to connect the float bowl breather to the air box lid, via a filter (see below), not all seem to plug the under-slide breathers into the air box lid, as they should be. Something else to check.
And another thing, the filter on the float bowl vent hose is plastic and warps due to engine heat. When this get's really bad it can block off the air flow completely, creating a vacuum in the float bowl. To avoid this, throw nasty plastic filter into bin and replace with a small metal-bodied fuel filter, which will not warp.
And another thing - actually I'll stop there 'cause I'm sure I just heard somebody snoring! _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

intrigued to hear that the fuel pump is vacuum operated, as mine runs as soon as I turn the ignition key on.............
All will be revealed next week when it goes in for it's carbs fettling. _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.

GeeKay, sounds like somebody has addressed the fuel pump issue by replacing the vacuum-operated original item with an electric one. Intrigued to know where they fitted it, as there's not a lot of space under there, other than in the air box. Whether they replaced it because they were suffering fuel starvation, or because they decided that if Bimota fitted one in the first place, it must have a useful function - I guess we'll never know, unless you're still in touch with whoever put it in?
Chuckie, I know the issues that the 6 air box has, but I'm sure I remember Daz of Melted Sliders say that he'd concluded that the air box on his 6R was too small, so he'd made a bigger one out of carbon, albeit he'd had to raise the tank a bit to accommodate. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

Now that I have discovered how to drive the photograph thingy on this forum
...here you go.
bimota visit 089 by Gavin Robertson, on Flickr
This is an Altered and modified DB9....
it has a DB11 rear end to accommodate the larger framed individual...as my
old mother used to say...Big Boned...bless!
bimota visit 096 by Gavin Robertson, on Flickr
In addition..it has Matris front fork conversion and (now) the Ohlins from the
DB7.....also there is the Factory ARROWS exhaust which has been
assembled by Virgins and Kiss-Welded by Angels....(so the invoice seemed
to indicate!)
regards

Arsenic,
You got beautiful collection of Italian beauties. Is that KTM 660 in the picture as well? _________________ 2016 Suzuki GSXR750 TRACK BIKE

Thanks !
And it's a 530 EXC, the 660 stand for a 660cc big bore kit that I wanted to put in, unfortunately with the dollar (us) become stronger with the trump election, it became too expensive, so I've decided to put a 590cc on it instead with a whole work on the cylinder head etc.
The ktm is actually in the garage of the guy who make that possible, it should give more than 71 hp at the wheel wich is pretty great when you compare to the stock 56hp at the crank ^^
But I'm not sure if I want to keep it, I really want a DB10 and there's one in Italy right now... so, I'll see |

Best thing to do is use flickr, photobucket , or something similar to host the picture then get the URL address and paste into forum message.
Don't think forum hosting has been fixed after last time website crashed. |
