Can anyone look at a manual, or take a pic for me of where the horn attaches-is mounted?

I'm just about sorted with wiring issues, but realised there was no horn... Need to get one sorted...lol.

Can someone take a picture for me? Thanks

Smile

Not sure if the Dieci is the same, but on that the horn sits in the V of the fairing in front of the down pipes.

Silly place to put the horn and probably explains why the horn on mine failed and now has a non original one.

I stupidly spent time perusing thru the exploded spare parts blow ups for all 3 of the YB8's....not only do they not show the horn as an item or "spare" or its location...they don't even show the ruddy engine and all its plumbing.....those manuals like the workshop manuals are real "hit and miss" as regards their complexity and completeness or complete lask of it....Bimota...Italian for Spaghetti mix-up minefield......

Thanks for looking 2bims. Appreciated.

It looks like all the main loom and the connectors sit in the space between the the radiator and engine. Not ideal.

Good news is I'll have it finished in the next few days, with the restoration complete. Balancing the carbs is the next ordeal. Rolling Eyes

Can't wait to get on it and give it a good flogging...

It deserves it. Laughing

Thrash it like you stole it...good to here another Bimota is being resurrected...and more importantly....used and ridden.....its the one element of the bikes that really shines out for myself personally.....all great to look at but its the substance underneath that stands out from the competition/also rans.....But then I am biased....Keep it up...and you'll be the "go-to" guy for YB8 info

lol...

Toot Toot. Thanks Randy!

Who would have thought? Bloody Bimota's!!!!!

Let's face it, these bikes are space poor. But the pedigree is why I love them. As far as production bikes go, chassis is full on race. A few basic tweaks and you have a monster! Excellent!

Beaut of a location eh? Centreline of front tyre....heated up by headers...and a nicely cut vent slot....to not protect it....as if the slot was there for another reason like cooling the headers...Until...Oops...where do we put the horn?....On a Db2 its side mounted behind the fairing...pointing out to the side and not forward....to be fair...they did twist the backing plate 45 degrees round to "try" to get it a little more pointy forward....pretty pointless when its behind the fairing though....

Good luck with that!

I think there are no stubs for vacuum gauges as standard. I would be inclined to put some adaptors in place permanently before the carbs are fitted. Make it easy to plumb the vacuum gauges in.
