Three Bimotas for auction at this event. Note that all are not UK registered models so they are subject to 20% VAT on the hammer price so the estimates could be a little optimistic.
Lot 408 1990 Tuatara
Lot 409 1992 Furano
Lot 410 1994 SB7

Wowsa...and all because they are classified as being "New Means of Transport" because they have come into the UK with less than 6,000kms on the clock...and thats their cut-off point....BUT...this is wrong...IF...the vehicle has been previously registered elsewhere within the EU...whilst we are still in it...THEN...VAT is deemed to have been paid on the vehicle within the Big happy EU that we are still in....so Bonhams are charging you 20% that you dont or shouldn't be paying...and it will be on the hammer price plus auction fees....naughty boys |

this is their words
Please note, this lot is subject to VAT at 20% on the hammer price (denoted by NMT in the catalogue) in accordance with HMRC's NOVA Scheme: Motor vehicle lots marked "NMT" in the catalogue originate from or are registered in another EU member state and have travelled less than 6,000km from new. Accordingly HMRC and the DVLA classify such machines as 'New Means of Transport' under the Nova Scheme and are subject to VAT at 20% on the hammer price |

This could be right. The Sarti 'bible' indicates 165 white/red/purple and 35 yellow/purple/black.
Even at the bottom estimate I think they may struggle, depends on where the reserve is set. Hammer price plus 15% premium, then 20% VAT on top of that plus recommissioning costs (tyres/fluids etc.). Ouch! _________________ Bimota DB1, Bimota YB5, Bimota YB6 Exup, Bimota YB9 SR, Ducati NCR Replica, Moto Guzzi 750 S3, Honda CR750 race replica, Seeley-Suzuki TR500 |

So they didn't make one in those colours according to sarti? 165 + 35 = 200.....usual Bimota myths and fables.....notes say bike will be "inspected and run immediately prior to sale"...I hope someone spots that bare end of the rear brake cranked brake line sticking out above the RHS footpeg...clearly not connected to the brake master in any way shape or form.....maybe the "inspection" will see that but not actually do anything about it....those darn auction houses...a real potential hornets nest you enter into when buying...no guarantees and no returns and no chance to try starting it either...and clearly this has no rego docs either!!...same as the other 2...they could be stolen for all anyone knows.... |

Is that missing also?.....I'd only ever buy at Auction if it was cheap...Bonhams at Stafford...Used to allow viewing, discussion and maybe starting them up on the Saturdays...and all auctioned on the Sunday...Oh no...not any more....Its auction day on both days...and bikes packed in so tight even if youre there its hard to see what you would be buying...and fat zero chance of even trying to see if it runs.....and zero comeback or backing out later...Auctioneers are like estate agents nowadays...not unknown for them to stretch the truth somewhat |

Why would you need to know it runs?? Anyone would think your buying a vehicle when you should well know your purchasing an 'investment opportunity'......... |

If you dig into the small print of Bonhams....etc....they do say ...and with car auctions also...that you are not buying a vehicle, or means of transport...but an Antiquity, or object of desire etc....and as such....no warranty implied or given as to road worthiness etc etc....Theyre just sharks in posh suits |
