Hi. I am new to this site and interested in the earlier 1970s/80s Bimotas.
Especially English built machines and specials. Back in the days I built a YB1 special fitted with an RD400 air cooled engine. it was supplied to an American living in Ireland. I also built an SB2 race bike which Bill Smith used for practice in the Ulster GP, the engine expired. Two other bikes I built were an SB3 and an SB2/80 with tuned engines which took six World Speed Records at Elvington between them.
I would love to find information on the Dixon Racing supplied bikes.
Thanks, Colin.

Hi Colin, welcome on board!
I',m a relative newcomer myself but you'll find this THE best resource for Bimota enthusiasts bar none.
a YB1 would certainly be a collectors/parade piece today but there are still YB3 racing at top level in Classic GP class.
Any more details of your past bimota encounters (and especially PHOTOS!!) would be great Very Happy

Hi Colin, I very nearly bought your YB1 back in the late 70's. I believe it is still owned by the lad who was sensible enough to pay the asking price and not try to haggle like I did....
