Bimota thru the years are quite famed for changing parts on same models...in the owners handbooks they identify it as "constant pursuit for perfection that some parts may differ from those shown in the owners manual"...or rather...whatever they had lying around.
Generally...the frame, swinging arm...footpegs, foot brake and gear change levers, footpeg hangers top and bottom yokes and clip-ons are bespoke Bimota items....and of course Bodywork, seats and screens, petrol tanks also...
Everything else is bolted on from other suppliers/manufacturers...so there will always be parts available but you just have to look around...Bike meets are great places to view all makes of bikes...hence finding rear light unit, and front indicator lenses on DB5 are from a Benelli Tre....same light unit for DB6 also
Sometimes Bimota commissioned the likes of Triom and Oscom and Brembo to make generic parts but with bimota cast into the calipers or stamped on headlamps or wheels...but the part is still the same...Of course on a tesi...the whole front end is specific to bimota....but the above is a general rule you can take... |
