Looking to paint the db1r but I'm not sure what to tell the painter. Here's what I'm thinking so far but I'm stumped on how to describe the pearl green and I haven't seen a db1 in person in years. Any paint codes/opinions are welcome. Maybe the colors are the same on other models?

Thanks in advance,
Adam

The Db4 carbie single seat tri-color bike utilised the same paint colours...pearlescent white and green with gloss red....I'll have a ook through several owners manuals of bikes I have to see if they have codes for those colours.
You could try contacting LineaMoto in Italy though...they recently produced 100 mini-me DB1's and they matched the colours perfectly.....so they must have a record of what paint mixes/codes that they used...
scroll down on here and you'll see the baby Bimota DB1 model they produced in ltd edition of 100 pieces...

Hy Adam,
that's a little difficult...

The supplier of the lacquers to Bimota was this company:
Lechler Spa
Via Cecilio 17
22100 COMO (CO)
Italien
Telefon : ?+39 031 586111
Fax : ?+39 031 586206
Webseite : http://www.lechler.it
But there you can get no information about bimota colors. On the homepage there are also links to bimota, but no allocation to the db1-painting.
I went to a company in Germany, that sold Lechler colours and looked at the colour-cards there. There were several thousand color cards. I had an original DB1 fairing with me. Here is the result of the colour comparisons:

Red of the fairing- R05 99 - Rouge Ecarlate Scarlet (is also used with PSA)

Green of the fairing - Topic Green VE 3852F 39U (is also used at Daewoo)

Pearl-White:
1. Aplication - 62000 that's a white
2. Aplication - Bianco Micalizzato Grana Fine 61185 (my assessment, slightly bluish)
alternativ
2. Aplication - Bianco Micalizzato Grana Fine 61183 (slightly yellowish)
3. Aplication - Clearcoate 09926

With these colors, however, the result also depends on the processing. The more often the colour is applied, the darker the result. Tests are helpful for a good result.

It's easier on the frame. There I used a RAL colour tone. The number is RAL 3020, it's traffic-red. That was a good result.

I've been watching your blog on Google+ for a long time. I am looking forward to the result.

Right now, I'm back in. I rebuild the complete fairing and have to paint it.

Regards Rolf

Gentlemen! Thank you, thank you!

I'll be sure to post pictures of the final result.
Hope to enter the bike in the Quail show in May (California).
