so, last night I engaged the SB6R in combat and finally it yielded it's clock set, but not without a struggle............

clock set now despatched to sunny Norfolk to (hopefully) have it's errant speedometer repaired.............

and whilst the hammer and chisel were still warm, I removed the rear seat unit in preparation for a deep cleaning session...........

not that it really needs one Very Happy

Geekay, many have replaced the stepper motors on those clocks, including me, without much in the way of success. They are not a quality item! I replaced mine with a set of Koso, which have served me well, at not a huge cost.

I would like to keep the standard clocks if possible. I am not a big fan of Koso clocks. but I do have a spare Tesi 1D digital unit on standby.......... Very Happy

Nowt wrong with the Koso stuff....albeit a bit low budget....but not really period keeping with the bike.....probably less chance of your Tesi clocks working than the original SB6R ones...teehee

Your probably better off junking the insides of the speedo and fitting a new unit behind it, keeping the face and needle. Then calibrate it.

Think fitting a Koso unit is easier than that option Very Happy

Shrug ... its not you have to calculate the burn, or limit the impurity, control pitch and yaw and then think of a recovery system

I have managed to graft a Triumph Sprint speedo into a Suzuki Katana instrument pod, but there are sod-all electronics involved in that.
