Biggest difference between the 6 and the 6R (leaving aside that the 6 is the pin-up and the 6R is the girl next door) is the "feel" given by the relative weight of the wheels. If you put lighter wheels on the 6R Geekay, life would be much tougher every time you opened the garage door! In fact, it might get so tough that eventually it became easy!

fair point Jonny. But if I was considering fitting lighter wheels to either of the bikes, the 6R would be sold to fund a pair of BST carbon wheels for the 6, making it even better than sublime Very Happy

You have oscoms on your SB6 Geekay....so you'd have to spend a heap of money to make very small difference as the oscoms are light anyhow..tiny hubs...and very narrow hence the deep set offset discs...The anteras are heavy...and comparison of wheels is as below....from recollection the Oscom 3 spokes are only around 1/2Kg heavier than the Dymag alloys.....biggest difference is in ditching Anteras in favour of any other wheel in effect

Antera ...................................Front 6kg Rear 8.95kg
BST carbon.............................Front 2.95kg Rear 5 kg
Dymag 7 spoke forged alloy.....Front 3.45kg rear 5.9kg
Dymag carbon........................Front 2.75kg rear 4.75kg.

Just testing, Boris...........................
Very Happy

I'm not spending big money on the 6R as I don't intend on keeping it. I have my eye on something else with the dreaded "b" logo on it.............

I like the way you think Gaz... the 6 is definitely a keeper.

Maybe just keep the 6R as a display piece in the living room without the bodywork on Laughing

Great comparison Steve. I didn’t realise just how heavy the Antera’s are Shocked

I cant quite find the Oscom wheel masses....although pretty sure its on here somewhere....but less than a kilo difference per wheel than the dymag alloys......Rumour was with the Anteras was that Bimota wasn't very happy with them and never paid Antera for any of the wheels supplied...but then...it wouldn't be Bimota if there wasn't rumours about suppliers not being paid

Too much to choose from in your part of the world! Very slim pickings down here... unless you’re cashed up and can afford to import your own. But then, very few models that can be legally ridden on Australian roads Crying or Very sad

much as I would like a KB1, there is no room for negotiation on the one that has been on ebay for a long time. However, this is not the case with the very nice BB1.................. Wink
