Any recommendation on a paddock stand for the SB7 as I'm not impressed with the though axle one I got with it. Anyone know if thats standard? |

The little black triangular stand with through axle rod was the original Bimota packing crate stand that the factory used. Most keep them for originality sake and they do the job so long as you don't want to remove the wheel.
If I'm removing the wheel on my SB6 I just use a universal rear stand with L type brackets that locate under the swing arm _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I was hoping to find a way of attaching bobbins on the swinging arm. Has anyone bolted any though the axle? |

I have had a removable through rear axle stand rod made recently for my SB7 so that I can hook a normal paddock stand to this. I simply bought some appropriately sized stainless steel rod plus a couple of paddock stand bobbins, then has the rod cut to length and tapped to take the two bobbins each end and it slots through the rear axle when required when I wish to use a traditional paddock stand. |

Philfingers (log on name on here) sells just the item you are looking for....all ready made up to length with the alloy bobbins on the end to go thru a hollow spindle...You can turn a rod down to size....but it has to come way down to take standard bobbins on the ends....Philfingers puts a large dia rod thru and turns up on his lathe oversized bobbins.....(at least internally dia wise)
Cant get why you dont like the standard paddock/packing crate stand...put bike on sidestand....fit rod and stand through with locking R clip in the end....then gently lift bike up to vertical and stamp down on rear of stand to place bike firmly on the stand.....and can be used front or rear....and is sturdier and safer than a paddock stand on the ground....more "one man" operable....no bending down needed...and when wanting to remove...you simply push the bike forward to rock it off...back on sidestand and remove pin and stand...great for in the back of a van also.... |

Yep I agree Steve. They're a simple, safe and very effective stand. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
