When it comes to yamaha, follow their guidelines. They actually know best in relation to their motorcycles and engine requirments.

I'm not looking for a fight, this has nothing to do with tyres, or opinions?

Follow the Yamaha manual for the best results for your bikes engines.

Remember Bimota (god love them) put good oem engines into their outstanding chassis. I think the only engine they modified was the SB6, and it was cams.

Other than that, if your engine is Yamaha, Suzuki, Kwaka, Honda, ducati. Buy a manual and adhere to it.
