Hi all
I’ve not ridden my Bimota’s in nearly two years. They’ve been in bikecoons with a trickle charger on. Decided it’s time to give them all a run. Got Tesi Anniversary model out and gave it a check over. Put in fresh fuel and started her, she started 2nd attempt. Everything looked and sounded okay except engine management light was flickering. Took her to the local petrol station to fill up, took my time as I wanted the bike to settle. Filled up and went. Engine management light either stays on or flickers at higher revs. Bike has no power 70mph to speed in 5th great if I put her in 6th loose speed will not go over 6000rpm. Engine feels okay but no power, got home tonight and one of the exhaust down pipes was glowing red hot. Bike starts first time every time. Everything works, just engine management light and lack of power. Any ideas?
Thank you in advance. |

Maybe a faulty sensor has put it into a ‘limp’ mode?
Was it actually hot, or just hot pipes? Maybe running lean for some reason _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Could be but I’ve got no idea where to start looking
Temp gauge was on four bars when I pulled into my garage, it smelt hot. |

Guess if one pipe red hot and running rough you have a fuel issue to that pot.
Temp sender on the air cooled twins is not going to be very accurate and is engine block not individual pots. |

It doesn’t sound rough just no power and revs limited occasional pop on deceleration |

Guess its the usual plug/injector fuel pressure tests to start with.
Glowing header usually running lean. |

Sorted
Had time this morning to have a good look, I had disconnected the battery in the hope it might be an ecu problem but in the end it was a wire. It looks like a coil pack and there’s one each side either side of the battery. The one behind the horn had the loose connection. Anyway put it back on started great and runs great😀
Thanks for the help.[/img] |
