I am wondering if anyone figured out which radiator caps will fit YB11.

There is no way that Bimota used proprietary radiator caps. It would completely financially and technically unreasonable to do so.

Any knowledge and ideas would be appreciated
thanks
Vlad

Isnt the radiator and the fans taken straight from the Thundrace Yamaha? And thus so would be the rad cap?

Check all these parts out...they all seem YB11 familiar

And then of course you could check Yamaha Dealers also

SB6R also uses the Thunderace rad, but has a remote rad neck, for access. Bimota used a neck and associated cap that were nothing to do with the Thunderace. I couldn't find a similar cap, so ended up getting a neck made up, that would take a readily available cap.

That is exactly the case. Radiator is a Thunderace but it has a remote Bimota specific Aluminum pipe with the cap

Thank you. Unfortunately will not work with YB11. YB11 basically has a custom pipe with radiator filler neck and filler neck has a weird size. So any regular radiator caps don't work

Ummmm, may I ask how you know the YB11 cap is a special-weird size?

How sure are you that all regular sizes are incompatible with the YB11?

Do you have one there to reference? If so you have your answer.

I can say it is doubtful that bimota manufactured a special radiator cap and filler neck for the YB11? Highly unlikely.

When you say... quote "Thank you. Unfortunately will not work with YB11. YB11 basically has a custom pipe with radiator filler neck and filler neck has a weird size. So any regular radiator caps don't work"

I think... bullshit. Or you have some special secret agent insight? I will post a pic of a filler that was was on a bike that I wrecked. It's still here, as I see it every now and then. Next time I trip over it I'll check for you.

Really, does it need to be this dramatic? I hope the picture is not too large... Cheers

Ok, here is the deal. I was able to figure out which radiator caps fits remote neck of radiators on YB11. Any KTM, Husquarna and Husaberg radiator caps will fit just fine. The only problem with these caps is that stock cap on YB11 is 1.1 psi and the one from KTM is 1.8. Lowest that I was able to find.

Basically I took radiator cap from my Husaberg FE390 and it fits perfect. No leaks.

Radiator caps from any of the Japanese bikes would not fit and so are the one from Aprilia or newer Ducati

Who - the issue is the height of the the top seat of the neck vs the lower seat - most caps are designed with a shorter height - a handfull of bikes use this same taller standard. I measured a RSV4 neck I had on hand and the bimota neck - it's the same height (about 5-6mm taller than the Suzuki neck I had kicking around)

The cap from an RSV4 Aprilia fits the Bimota neck, and is only a 1.4 bar rather than the KTM/Husky/Husaberg 1.8 - the RSV4 guys fit the KTM/Husky/Husaberg 1.8 to gain some cooling capacity on the track with the stock rad.

Gammaboy,

Did you actually fitted the Aprilia radiator cap? Do you have a picture of your Aprilia radiator cap
