compared to the SB8R, the SB6R is lithe, light and agile.
compared to the SB6, the SB6R handles like a an overweight supertanker Very Happy

The 6R is a seriously lardy lad out of the crate, only thinly disguised by a monster motor. But with major liposuction, starting with wheels and exhaust, you end up with something that will live with most modern stuff.

Interesting, on paper the SB8 should be shorter and lighter... I guess with any of the Antera equipped bikes, throwing the boat anchors in the bin is a major improvement

I haven't ridden the SB6 in anger yet, just to the fuel station and back. I had the 8R about 12 years ago so might be hard to judge after all this time. I remember the 8R being quite a wild ride when ridden aggressively and physically quite big. the SB6 seems tiny

(I now own a tuned and lightened TL1000R and a Ducati 851/996cc )

Welcome Hippotech.

Looks like you into your 90's stuff TL/888/996.

I was a Ducati man back in the 90's , 888sp3 , got a bit bored of it , tested a 916SP , OK but no soul compared to 888 . Tested an SB6 Shocked was smitten , traded 888 there and then . I love them, great bike and look as good now as they did 24yrs ago . OMG , the SB6 is 24yrs old !!!!! Talk about before its time !!

Anyway, losing my thread . SB6 , you will love it . Tiny bike with loads of grunt.
Get some miles in before the weather turns.

The way the Ducati makes power and sounds, I could never be bored of that, she is my first wife...
Lusted after an SB6 for 20 years and finally found wife no2 last year
The TL is a fling with an old girlfriend and she is still as naughty as she always was, but learned a few tricks since she was a teenager...
Now all I need is an RC30....
Very few recent bikes light my fire, the Zagato MV Augusta perhaps...
