What was the mishap?? The reg recs go easily on these bikes...that could drop your current at the caps...test reg rec first |

KISS = keep it simple stupid
Carb or EFI
It will maybe be a silly thing like
1 - neutral light on ?
2 - pick up got pulse ?
3 - eletric plugs on the right way ?
4 - checked fuses ?
5 - to cold and wants to stay home ? hahahhahaa
just some ideas

To close this out, it was a bad connection on the crank sensor....
It sits inside the LH frame rail.
Sorted. |

Cheers JRH....I'll check this out on mine as its due back on the road this year....Is it an earth tag to frame or on the motor itself?
How did your high temp lacquer stand up after you polished up your jolly moto mild steel pipes? Has it kept corrosion at bay and stayed intact?....Thats on my list this year also...I have some 800 degree Celsius lacquer that sprays nice...but needs to be baked at 160 Celsius for 30-60 mins to harden....More kitchen time ahead "baking parts"... |

Following on from this, I have another Vdue FE with a non start problem.
This bike has been jet washed.........
Now it will not crank of the button, but also has no spark.
I have swapped the Pegaso dash with my other bike, and it is not the dash.
The bike seems to be waiting for a missing signal to allow cranking and spark.
I have checked everything......now a bit fed up!!!!!!!
Interestingly, this bike (b4 my time) has had the neutral light shorted out, so its perm on..........
Any ideas ?
Thanks,
John. |

Had one years ago , the big plug that goes into the Pegaso dash had a wire come out for the neutral light bike would not start. Pull the two big plugs off and check the connectors are all the same hight etc off , memory it was the left plug when siting on the bike

You know what the Vdues are like for starting...Has to be in neutral...and with the neutral light on.....as it can be in neutral without the light being on...and it can be in gear but the light is on and it has to be both....light on and in neutral...so I'd start by sorting the neutral light out/sender......What it is connecting the 2 I'll never know....but they dont crank without it being on and in neutral......Also swap over the recalcitrant starter button switch....you know...the thing that you press and hold for 5 seconds before it makes its mind up to start.....that should be an easy enough item to swap over.....they can short out on the start button....and its AWOL after that....I'm currently having all the bad earths sorted on mine going back to battery......theres one main earth off the battery that goes to the alloy plate holding the carb rubbers on....into an alloy engine....and all other earths are supposed to get back to that some how eventually....Have you tried bump starting it in 2nd gear?...even with a bad sprag clutch assembly they'll bump start.... |

Other than the above.....try a battery direct onto the starter motor assembly..you can buy rebuild kits for the Honda CBR600 starter motor quite easily or remove it and check the armature and bushes etc etc...as they can be stripped down..... |

It cranks if I short out the starter relay. Even put a new one on.
The Pegaso dash has to send a signal to allow spark, but my bike starts with the no starters dash.. .. .....so maybe Trevs idea is a new try.
I have had the bike completely apart with the benifit of another alongside.....
One weird thing is that the bad bike rotates the PVs at switch off......mine does it at switch on! |
