Unless I'm mistaken the footrests are just standard SB8 [not R] footrests. |

They seem to be the standard SB8R footrests.
The SB8RS are orangygoldie looking footrests with anodised with a carbon heel guard. Spot the Benelli LE rear indicators on the bike too.
The bike looks like the "cooking and cleaning" SB8 i.e. the SB8R, which seems to have been painted remodelled and wot-not.
The S version is the special version of the SB8R a minor rework of the bolt ons including footrests and indicators.
The SB8K Gobert is a very modified version of the SB8 but which has the same frame, forks, wheels, ohlins rear shock, engine.
ECU/fairings/seat/injection system/clocks/footpegs/exhaust system are all different from the "R" bikes. It has magnesium covers on the engine and a few other exotica including the radial injection system. It has a smaller throttle bore than the SB8R, but more power is derived e.g. 130 at back wheel, thanks to the injectors i guess.
Q: Why didn't they call the SB8K the SB9R ?? Maybe to keep the link with WSB and the winning Bimota ???
The SB8K Santa Monica is a Gobert with a different coloured body work, oz wheels, radial brakes, ohlins forks, and a few minor tidy ups from what I can see. |
