Just kidding mate, I’m not all that far behind you.
Only my opinion, but unless I really (really really) had to sell it, I wouldn’t. If you get enjoyment out of looking at it, then that is something in itself. If you have the room and convince the Mrs, put it on display. Do what ever you need to do but don’t just get rid of it because you’re not using it.... it’s also art _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Yeah, i don't need to sell it, but with the 2 Laverdas on their way, i was just thinking about what i'm going to use... The Corsa really interests me, but to be honest the Executive i only bought because i was in the right place at the right time... But i suppose i'm not really going to know how i feel about them until they arrive...
Once the shed is emptied and i can figure out how much room i have, that may also change the way i feel... I suppose i could also sell one of the YB5's... Owning 2 may be a little excessive _________________ Cheers

I second Vorts Comment....If you dont need to sell...dont....If youre not retired as yet ...when you are youll have the time to use it...I know a 76 year old that still owns and rides Bimotas....and has only just sold his DB7 track bike that he used to also ride on the road......keep yourself agile by riding them and you'll be amazed how long you can continue doing so....I know a 69 year old that rides a DB7 Oro NEro as well as other bimotas....Numbers of your age are immaterial.....unless you have preconceptions..... |
I'm in pretty good nick for my age and see myself riding for many years more, thought the Government here are doing their utmost to remove any type of enjoyment from using vehicles...
Ive just been pondering how best to manage what bikes i'd like to own... at the moment one is stored at a mates place and i have the 2 Laverdas arriving in June, it is more a management crisis i'm having.. _________________ Cheers

Yeah, i suppose there are many different ways to look at it...
In the end, we are just custodians of these beautiful bikes, and at some point in time they will move on to new owners....
At the end of the day it was just a thought that crossed my mind.... I suppose we are all very lucky to sometimes be in this situation... _________________ Cheers

STEP AWAY FROM THE KEYBOARD STEVE! Now you’re just talking like a crazy man, considering selling 1 bike I can understand (although not an SB6), but when start talking about selling 2, this madness has to stop _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Was just in at Centrepoint to compare my tacho wiring to the wiring on the SB6 parts bike they have there, got chatting, and it appears there is another SB6 arriving this week... and an ECU-less SB7 will be arriving at some point too. |

ECU-less SB7 could be a good thing, the fuel injection can be woeful and a power commander makes it better but not perfect. I have seen a few articles about SB7's running perfectly with the standard ecu and then there are others in which they aren't so good. A Motec ecu could be a good thing and with some dyno time probably work better than the original. Would be expensive though.
Maybe a bargaining point as well if pointed out the ecu's aren't common. |

I know of a SB7 ECU for sale////and has been for a long time/////which kind of speaks for itself......As per Geekay...consign to the bin....Or cast it in clear resin as a DoorStop antiquity.....Would at least be useful then |

They’re becoming common as muck these SB6’s . Did you get your wiring sorted? _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Re: Wiring - the wiring on the bike I looked at (#1104) is what I think mine *should* look like - it's got the earlier main plugs, but has the correct connector directly into the back of the tacho like yours, rather than the bullet connectored pig tail coming out of the hole in the casing... so I dunno!
Looks like the SB6 he mentioned is actually a 6R.
He already knows the ECUs are uncommon - he had a look at another SB7 that was also minus it's ecu... I reckon putting a microsquirt on them would be the answer. |

There's a pic of the new SB6 in wrapping on Facebook. Is he selling the SB7's, haven't seen them advertised anywhere. _________________ pkay
