Yep, you need to introduce yourself properly here .
I was recently blocked on FB by a guy that I’ve known for years.... he’s even ridden my Bimotas and I’ve ridden his 749R. Apparently I offended I’m with a tongue in cheek comment I made about one of his Harleys _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Some people hey, they can give the cheek but can't take it . One minute there a friend next your arch enemy !!!!! . Oh well , your better with out them Brian.
Intro , what you want to know ?
Bought my first Bimota in 1994 , raspberry ripple SB6. Ordered a Vdue at the 96 NEC bike show from Steve Wynne ( Bimota importer and supplier of my Duc's previously ) , took delivery in Aug 97 and promptly returned after a very quick ride.
Next came the DB4 in 2003 with the sport kit ( flatsides/ Corse exhaust etc) then the vdue itch started again and finally cleared in 2012 , quickly followed by the Santa , a few other vdues , a quick flurry with 2bims buying/sharing/selling a DB5/6/7, then a DB7 of my own , DB5R , DB6R , a 3D ( or 2 ) and then the BB3 , think that about does it . Honest ??!!??
Is that OK Brian ? |

Yep that’s a pretty good resume and introduction. Is that the ‘real’ version or the ‘just in case Mrs Vort is listening’ version
The clown that blocked me on FB definitely likes to dish it out but can’t take a bit of banter back. Worst part was that he made a nasty comment about Bimotas before I had a chance to retaliate. He saved me the trouble of taking out the trash anyway, he did it for me. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I was hoping that my next Bimota would be a YB but I couldn’t pass on the two DB’s that I recently bought. Now I’ve got too many bloody DB’s and still no YB . A nice YB8 or YB6 would be super _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Both nice bikes...YB6 and YB8....and suitable for the less vertically challenged also....nice low seat and not too broad to get your legs around.....full one piece fairings though...so usual trouble there |

Nothing wrong with one piece fairings in my book, and I have a couple. It adds to the uniqueness and beauty that Bimotas are I recon. I hate the clunky shit quality of the multi-piece plastic DB4 fairing. On the other hand, the one piece fibreglass seat unit is a thing of beauty _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Well you can never pass on a Bimota bargain !!! I've missed out on a few over the years and lived to regret it.
YB11 is a bit of a bus TBH, YB6/8 /10 , I've never had the pleasure of riding one .I know there are numerous sub models , they are basically the same frame just with subtle changes here and there , suspension / colour schemes / lights etc and later FZR 1000 motors/exup valves fitted. Think the YB8 is about the best model , all the refinements of the 6 but less lardy than the 10. |
