Not mine but looking at the condition I wouldn’t mind if it showed up in my garage... priced at the top of the current market

First off, I am not a market expert but will be happy to share my opinion. The YB11 is not the most beloved Bimota model. I would let the more experienced members chime in as to reasons why. I would venture a guess that many would prefer anything DB (well, with exception of DB3 maybe).

Regardless, the market is quite soft on these. A good one can be had for between $6k-$7k. A good price for the bike advertised here is somewhere around $8k. Even at such reasonable prices it can still take YB11 some time to find a new owner.

Something to ponder though. Japanese crotch rockets of similar vintage are at about the same price level and rare or homologation models even significantly more. At least in the US anyway. This can be attributed to several key factors but mainly to brand recognition. By now you are probably aware how few people out there would even know what a Bimota brand is...

As for YB11, the biggest complaint I am aware of are the fork seals although I do believe those in the know have found a retrofit. This is a really good ride, 150 hp carrying 400 lbs! Not shabby at all.

The seller of the YB 11 must have seen this thread on our forum Laughing as the price has been dropped to $8900

I still think that a deal can be made here for $8k (or very close to that number). I would go for it myself but a) unless this bike has a California specific emission sticker, the mileage is below threshold allowed for registration and b) I would need to rotate some of my stock which I am very happy with at the moment:

Hello all

I ended up buying this bike. I always wanted a Bimota when I was younger but could never afford one. I do have a question about this bike. This kick stand seems about 1-2 inches too short. Is this normal for this bike? Do they make after market stands that are longer?

Thanks

Ken

Hi Ken,, welcome along here and enjoy our new bike.

When Bimota made sidestands they went for looks rather than function.

Suicide stands indeed.

Well...congrats on becoming a Bimota owner.....The YB11 I used to have had an aftermarket side stand made and fitted for it....plenty of folk have modded theirs and posted on here.....just search sidestand mods......basically they cut the chromed side stand in half....its hollow steel tube....then add in a same sized tube piece in alloy and tap and thread the two halves of the original and sidestand piece and put threaded rod in to make a sidestand thats "adjustable" in length....if you catch my drift....

Nice bikes they use the Yamaha ThunderAce engine - so there's scope to tune them.
I have a supply of forks seals so let me know if you want some.
The ride position is a bit odd so experiment with the bars / or think about the foot pegs
