Hi Everyone
After purchasing my dream bike 18months ago and an extensive rebuild, today I finally got to my first ride on the DB1 and couldn't be happier.
I just wanted to thank all involved at Bimota Forum for the answers to my questions along the way and providing a reference point re pictures of other owners bikes that helped when I got lost amidst the rebuild. Ive added all the pics Ive taken along my journery to hopefully help those embarking on a rebuild in the future.
Thanks again
Anthony

Thanks for the compliments everyone.
The exhaust was in a really bad state, the baffles inside had rusted to the point when you shook the exhaust rust would fall out the end. We also had a problem where the side stand had punctured the exhaust.
So I took them to my friend Jeff Garland who specialises in exhaust work and he cut the end off, put in a new perf tube & stainless wool packing and welded the back up. I then got them re-black chromed and they come up and sound like new.
Im happy to pass on theses guys contact details should anyone need.
Cheers |

Very nice, lovely in fact.
From the pics it looks like it didn't need any paint work, however I'll ask anyway. Any painting done to it? I'm curious about paint colours and manufacturers. |

Thanks so much - paintwork all original as I believe, I had it detailed and machine polished by clean ride here in Perth WA and he did an amazing job! |

beautiful job Anthony!
I'm based in NZ but have one of the DB1's that Ian Gowanloch originally imported (#404) - same as yours. I'd love to know how many were imported and how many still exist.. any ideas? Can you tell me what frame number is on your bike?
Thanks,

Is that a pro commercial workshop or just for your own use. Fantastic looking and an awesome display of special tools on the peg boards. Nice to see that the DB1 also has some nice stablemates to whisper to in the evenings when she is shut away!! Have great fun with your new steed. _________________ Not as many bikes as I would like and already too many to keep up with! |
