SB7 runs a 120/60 17 front tyre and a 180/55 17 rear
SB6 runs a 120/70 17 front tyre and a 180/55 17 rear
I would go with SB6 rim sizes and run a 120/70 on the front. _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.

It should be like the SB6, but even then the wheels changed from Mk1 to Mk2.
Mk1 have Oscam wheels with deep offset front brake discs
Mk2 can have Marchesini or Antera, they used the 10mm offset discs. Those Marchesini's where hollow 3 spoke but the rear has a brake disc carrier.
If your wheels have the rear disc carrier and you want Marchesini then try to talk to them and see if they can help.
If you want wheels that will just bolt in then Dymag CA5 - Dymag have both Mk1 and Mk2 patterns to fit your bike. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Standard rim is 5.5 on the rear and 3.5 on the front.
I have a 6and 3.5 dymags on the of my SB6.
I believe 90's ducati front wheels are similar fitment to Bimota of that era, same disc offset etc, not sure on spindle size/drive etc.
I have also seen a DB4 with Ducati 999 wheels. How easy these are to fit I do not know.
I do recall back in the old days Oily fitted some Triumph Daytona wheels to his SB6 which was a bit of a nightmare I believe.
Depending on your access to machine shops etc, sometimes it is just easier /cheaper to buy Dymags that are made to fit your bike. |

Oily fitted aftermarket carbon / magnesium Dymags to his SB6 he said it was a pain.
I had a front 916 carbon / mag Dymag that I tried to fit to the SB6, the Bim spindle was bigger dia. I guess you could change the bearings and tube inside but I didn't ever find a rear to match. Even then youd need a rear disc carrier and maybe adapt the sprocket / drive ....
World of pain.
If Marchesini have the pattern and can make them great if not .... run away and buy some Dymags.
Remember you have a speedo drive on the front too. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Ah yes , Sorry EC. Thats what I mean't , they were 2nd hand dymags but for a triumph spec I think NOT a Bimota.
Seem to recall Dymag do a hub/fitment change service but they said that the change was not possible between those 2 fitments.
I've swapped wheels on bikes , but always ended up getting Dymags for the specific Bimota model . I got a mega deal once on some NOS BST's for an early R1. Tried to fit them numerous times to my SB6 , but like you in the end just sold them on and bought the correct fitment . Much easier. |
