I own a bimota mantra with the power up kit. Other than the fact it doesn't have choke cables can anyone tell me what else is in this kit?[/b]

Hello there.....have to say....I've never heard of a "power up" kit on a DB3....I've ridden a DB3 owned by a friend......engine at the time with grey crankcase covers came from the Ducati Monster 900...as Bimota wanted a carbed engine...and their Ducati 900ss had gone to being a fuel injected unit at the time with silver engine cases...…..Standard engine had Mikuni 39mm carbs.

Bimota did produce a "range" brochure of available upgrades you could order as a kit or have put on bikes at the factory from new......for the DB4 which has the same engine and sort of ….frame and swinging arm (there are differences in mounts for bodywork, footpeg hangers and ancillary gear bolted on etc)….The DB4 upgrade performance kit entailed Keihin FCR39 Flatslides.....which dont have a choke...….A motocorse titanium exhaust end can the size of a drain sewer.....Different throttle assembly with a push pull twin cable system...and a different petrol tank which allowed for the routing and top run of the differing cable set-up required for the Keihin Carbs......So I imagine that your bike has Keihin FCR39 flatslides if there is no choke?...Pictures would help

I have seen the power up kit mentioned in a few articles and a piece of literature on the web which described paoli forks with titanium instead of billet lowers. Also front and rear suspension that is more adjustable. The carbs are mikunis without a choke circuit which are race bike units. I do know that the "power up kits"
are being offered by ducati for its scrambiers and other models.

I am not a mechanic so I don't know how a 900ss can be modified. I have a stock bike I love. the bike is has a lot of torque and is easy to ride. I tried riding the modified bike a few times It was nearly impossible to start. When I did get it started it was very fast simply rolling the throttle on cause a big wheely.[/b]

No worries mate, thought it might be a typo.
