Hello Everybody,

Just got my hands on a DB6 Smile , but am experiencing some problems with the fuel injection Sad . Bike will need to be tuned and/or re-programmed. However, closest Bimota service centre is much to far away, so I thought giving my KTM mechanic a chance to go at it.

Anyone that can give us some insight on what ECU and software this bike runs?

Would greatly appreciate any info on this matter, or anything else on the fueling system on this bike.

Regards

Vic

It's probably running the same Magnetti Marelli as the Ducati Monster but tuned by Bimota.

The very best you can do is to buy a Microtec ECU and have it tuned by any good mechanic with a dyno.

maybe see if there's a power comander map listed either for the DB6 or 5 or a Ducati with the same 1000 DS motor. Then have it mapped using that as a starting point.

All the power commander 3 series are the same with different software for max rpm.
If you get stuck you can hard wire a pc3 onto the bike and use the injector one channel(this gives the rpm input to the pc3) for one cylinder and injector two for cylinder two.
I've done this a few times when they weren't available for a particular bike.

...might be worth checking the simple stuff: plugs, the TPS setting, manifold air leaks, carb balance etc, b4 you start spending out though...

The DB6 has a Pegaso ECU and both built in diagnostics/map upload capability AND a mini-tune feature which is essentially a Power Commander. The diagnostic kit comes with software and the special cable to connect to the connector under the dashboard. For more information - contact me at: info@bimotaspirit.com Afer about 600 - 1000 miles the throttle body butterflies should be synchronized and the idle set, and then the TPS reset to zero electronically.
