I bought a carbon bellypan from Perfect Fairings quite a few years ago too.

A better fix for the cracking front fairing would be to just buy a fibreglass front firing from Perfect Fairings too. The original tank/ seat unit is fibreglass so never an issue with that part.

I ended up finding a fibreglass half fairing in Italy which I’m going to use once I can get it painted.

Hi Mike,

This is a great post. Nice info regarding the headlight. I’m in the process of looking for a headlight for my 2nd DB4 that I bought a few years ago with a lot of parts missing.

The fairing stay on my first DB4 also cracked and had to be repaired.
Thanks Brian!

You are spot-on that I should get the fiberglass bits from Perfect Fairings. My holdup is finding someone who can paint to match, getting stickers, etc. I might know a shop but I dread getting an estimate! I really should get them on hand regardless...

I agree... paint is the hold up for many of my projects!

I've recently purchased a full carbon fibre bodywork set from perfect fairings for my 2nd DB4. Not cheap but shipping from Greece to Australia was very reasonable considering it was a VERY large box. A little disappointed with the finish but kind of expected that as I've previously bought a carbon bellypan from them.

Shipping to the US was only 35EUR. It was so cheap I thought it must have been an error and I was expecting an email that I owed more. The downside is that it was Black Hole Transportation once shipped. I eventually received notification that the box was in the US, then it randomly showed up some days later.

Pulled the horizontal head to replace the o-rings. Pleased by the lack of Bimota interference issues.

Mostly buttoned back up. It's a little challenging to set the cables up with the FCRs so that they don't drag. Coincidentally, a friend had just bought a set for a very early Monster and we spent a couple hours messing with them and found it just impossible to get a satisfactory snap back. Sometimes it would stick wide open.

What I found on my bike that having enough slack on the pull side is critical. I single turn of the adjuster is the difference between a slow close when you release and a satisfactory SNAP while not having a sloppy throttle (which drives me nuts).

I wanted to take a quick spin yesterday. Pro tip: don't be thinking about the ride when you should be thinking about the work you're doing. I had been running it with an external fuel tank and forgot to switch the fuel on before installing the Bimota tank and putting the tank/seat cover. Helmet and gear on, warming the bike up, and ... dead. I cranked it for a while before I realized what I had done. I didn't have enough time to undo my mistake. Might be a while before I get it out because they'll be salting the roads soon.

A couple heat cycles and no oil leaking yet.

Someone posted to ducat.mi about cleaning up pipes with acidic toilet bowl cleaner and a scotchbrite so I had to to that since the pipe was right there and comes off in seconds.
