Thanks for that
Rf900 is maybe the same as gsxr. I need a resource with the dimensions of the thermostat to find a 35mm |

SHE LIVES........again
This must be the 3rd or 4th time I've put this engine back in the frame
I'm getting quite quick at it now
After the two O'rings turned up at a cost of £4.18 EACH It all went back together quite well with no problems worth mentioning.
This morning I filled the cooling system up with straight water as I intend to flush the system after it's been proved.
Topped the sump up with cheap mineral oil to aid bedding in the rings and to flush the system out and then the big moment............
pressed the electric boot button and away she went
left it ticking over at 2500rpm till it got hot enough to switch the fan on and very pleased with the result.
Sounded real good and wasn't breathing like a steam train like the last time, no steam or smoke to be seen
So far so good..........
Next is change the oil and filter for some good stuff (again) and flush the cooling system and add some antifreeze/inhibitor then get the bodywork back on for the first time in perhaps a couple of years and then the real testing begins |

Getting closer every day...................
Engine in the frame, oil changed again, cooling system flushed several times and topped up 50/50 with distilled water and motul antifreeze/inhibitor
Airbox back on and carbs balanced (again)
Fuel tank back on after draining the stale fuel, pulling out the fuel tap, cleaning the strainer and checking the vacuum bit works.
Tail/seat unit back on
Almost ready to come off the bench. Just the chain to lube and adjust and a general check around and then maybe a little run up the road to see what other surprises it's going to throw at me |

Here we go again.....
No matter how I tried I couldn't get any clutch
Three master cylinders, new slave cylinder, back bled it, forward bled it, threatened to set light to it........
Bit the bullet and decided to have a look at the clutch again so engine dropping time AGAIN.
1 hour 12 minuets later and this is as far as I've got. Probably take me 3 days to put it back together again |

I was wrong........
Just shy of 4 hours later and we're back to where we started from
Problem solved and just the front fairing to fit.
Road test time in the next couple of days

Am following your project. What was the clutch problem?
And yes, it does speed up things when you've done it before and know what goes in first after the first trail and error. _________________ Track riding on a Bimota: FUN! |
