Hi all, just found the site, i guess the virtual beers are on me
Have found myself a Honda CB400F as a basket case, all Bimota bodywork swingarm etc, thing is, its so drop dead gorgeous, i want to rebuild it, and see it as it should be.
but am struggling to find any info on it, I know they never made an actual model but have been told they made a kit for this bike,
does anyone have any info on such a thing?
cheers, Vin. |

Well,
As HB1's are quite rare your going to find even less stuff about HB1 kits on 400's but I'm sure you know that already.
The Japanese sites are where I'd start, they love their 400's
So you've bought yourself a Christmas present. Can't wait to see some pictures of the actual thing |

That's a pretty little bike
I've got a 400/4 that's just gone through the MOT .... I bought it as a basket case back in '92. I'm glad yours has a twin front brake, the standard one is .... "hopeful"

And all you need now is a HB1 kit to go on it
It is such a pretty little bike that I'm surprised someone else hasn't made a rip off/lookalike body kit
There's an opening for some body |

is it being imported from Japan, or did you source it in the UK?
will be a very rare and unusual bike here in the UK. |

Hi Vin
I found the web page that lists the parts are reproductions.
http://www.motocicliveloci.it/inglese/catalogue/replicabimota_uk.htm
The one you are looking at could be original parts or these reproductions. Suspect the difference would dramatically affect the value (and if reproductions it might be cheaper to just buy a tatty UK 400/4 and build around that).
Mind you, looking at that link there seems to be a few bits that might be useful for others of us (the tank straps look like the ones on my Dieci).
All the best
Keith |

I don`t remember seeing one of those before?Good find
I do remember the Mocheck 400/4,think it was called a Harrier.Yoshi kit,
4-1 pipe wee handle bar fairing. Is yours a standard engine? |

Yep, standard engine, pretty sure anyway, didn`t have time to examine it properly.
remember the Mocheck well, lovely bit of kit.
Thanks Keith, link is what I suspected, they may be replica parts, wont know till i get it back and start rebuilding, either way i think it`ll be interesting to see it built up whatever its worth.
from what i can remember it doesn`t have a Marving, so think thats got to be on the shopping list.
Oh, and keep your eyes off the tank strap, its staying where it is !!! |

Being as Bimota sold kits to tart up yer onda originaly.......
If these are good replica parts........
How are people going to tell the difference between a restored original and a copy
They are pretty though and you could build one for about 2.5K, very tempting |
