So, 8 months after buying a less than perfect but low mileage BB1 from Batley in the UK. I have completed the rebuild. The paintwork was done by Wicked Coatings in Dorset, UK from a design I gave them and is all paint, no stickers. Even the rim stripes are painted and all for a very good £1300. The bike was stripped right back to just the engine on the bench and then methodically rebuilt using new bears, etc. I also decided to upgrade the brakes to twin front rotors, new brake lines and radial master cylinder. The engine braking is awesome but with this new setup it stops like nothing else!! Very Happy

How do I upload pictures?!!![/img]

Good to hear its all back together.!!

Pictures , upload to a host site , photobucket , imgur etc. Get the URL link for a forum etc and then paste into the thread .
Yoy may or maynot have to us the Img button before and after URL , depends on host site.
If all fails and the URL is in the thread we can view picture and assist in pointing out mistake in posting. It is a pain but once mastered really easy.

Thank you vort28 for uploading the photo's!

It has been a labour of love (as these things generally are). I would like to thank the painters, the metal polishers, Bimota for not having any wiring diagrams or manuals of any use and the hydraulic bench in my garage without which none of the job would have been easy!!

She is running a bit rich but so far on the 60 mile test ride nothing has fallen off so that's reassuring Surprised

You have to be "signed up" to google via your FB account to view....and you need to be able to recall your ruddy google sign up name and password and I cant.....So I opened in another media, saved, and then to imgur which is still SO much better than pukebucket ever was when it was at its "best"...If you sign up to "google images" via your phone if you do swipey swipey….they can automatically upload and store and share and sell and own all your images on your phone....So I dont use it...you click on and right click to "open in new window" and then you can right click again and save as option is there

that is lovely though....and a brave move to go for what is a "YB" based colour scheme...OR...you could say it was a race winning colour scheme I suppose??

I'd be very careful with your chain there....What you have is effectively motocross engine in that bike....with chain rollers top and bottom towards the front sprocket end....Chain tension is quite crucial on most Bimotas....and crucially is best measured when you sit on the bike as this is the position the chain spends much time in when being run thru the sprockets....Yours is WAY WAY too tight for a static BB1 with no rider aboard...and that'll rip thru your sprockets rapido wise..potential chain snap...or blow seal on engine sprocket shaft or snap sprocket shaft.....Check out other images of BB1's when on the sidestand....the chain looks like they are dragging on the ground....But sit on it...and the swingarm becomes Longer centre to centre of the sprockets...like on most bimotas.....Sit someone lardy on board and check tension....then back right off....I sort of presume that there is no cush drive? Sprocket fixed direct to wheel?...

Do "I spy with my little eye"...a split link in the chain run on the rear sprocket.....you bad boy you.....you've done such a lovely job and then throw in a split link and over tension the chain????Such a lovely polish job and paint scheme.....I would hate to see it come to a tortuous end

Not being "picky" here....(Ok...maybe just a bit)…..but you've changed the rear indicators out for those fairly cheap plenty available at 2 for a tenner plastic ones with angled lenses.....Stock original indicators are very easily bought off ebay….same as Ducati 748/916/996/998....Ducati 750 ssie ...900ssie...Monster....

Heres a pair for £23 posted.....You can get them for £7.50 each from Italy...but postage is dear....

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-pair-of-indicators-for-Cagiva-Ducati-turn-signal-blinker-winker-front-rear/400292168255?fits=UKM_Make%3ADucati%7CUKM_Model%3A748&hash=item5d3345c23f:g:HtoAAOSw2s1U01-W

Be sure to look after your front mirrors/indicators...Proper rocking horse do do they are....Same As Gilera CX125 puppies they are.....
