Hi Oily and all, project is still a project
It`s in the hands of some local lads.We couldn`t find any exhaust collets?
The local Suzuki dealer said"only had collets upto 1988" ?
Anyway we`ve made some now from ali tube
Not sure what takes the weight of the exhaust system? Is there a support mounting mid way? It seems held at headers and prob` at the back
attached to bodywork...is that it?
re; fairing. It seems previous owner wanted StevieB to make a mould but it didn`t happen.I`ll meet up and see what can be done?
T.T.F.N. Keith. |

Your right, on the early bikes the exhaust is held on at the headers and the seat unit.
the later SB6 has also got a bracket on the exhaust that fixes onto a rear engine mounting.
If you haven't got this bracket on the exhaust, not a problem |

I may be barking up the wrong tree (presuming we are talking SB6) but I just got exhaust collets from my local suzuki dealer... £3.70 each and they are a perfect fit. order them for a GSXr1100 WP (1994). |

You can see the bracket just before the two pipes joint into one. It secures to the side stand boss which is held on the engine mount. I couldn't fit the bolt for this from the left side into the captive nut, because the chain was in the way. I did it from the right and used a loose flange nut to secure it.
The original side stand boss mount had broken, I replaced mine with a later 6R one that has a ball bearing to lock the stand in the up position. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

How much did it go for?
I left a bid on it and then went away for the weekend. Obviously, I was out bid.
Wasn't worth too much to me as I have a genuine spare fairing anyway |
