Come out, come out, wherever you are, just in case this is genuine, apologies in advance, but if its a photocopy, shame on you. As Bimota Enthusiasts we should freely share knowledge and not run it through the photocopier and hawk it on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300667189535

I asked the seller if it was genuine and would he take 50Squid to close the auction early, the bait is set.....Get him to close the auction and then choose not to pay him , tee hee

When its free, of course, bit if its a photocopy, then at least state so, don't say "Rare" as I could easily run it through a photocopier to make 1000 copies, so hardly can be considered rare. Bimota doesn't do fake or copy, were always the inovative and leaders, think others should think likewise (evidently referring to the seller of course, not you my dear man) I have YB11 and DB2/4 stuff like that and quite happily pass on to fellow Bmota owners for free, usually postage included, I try to believe in a better world than the sometimes reality, thats all

Well I've had a response back from the Ebay seller, selling the photocopied workshop Bimota Manual on ebay, after I made him an offer of 50 Squid to pull from the Auction, and heres his response to the "Rare" WSM:-
"Hi,I believe it is a photocopy but if it is then it has been printed and bound in a very professional manner so its difficult to tell for sure, the quality of the text is excellent,i would be willing to accept your offer."

Yeh too right, I'm sure he would accept my offer for a photocopy and then make another copy before he was ready to send it on to me

Thus my reply back to him was:-

Thanks for getting back to me, it does look a good manual, and if you were willing to pull the item from ebay, as I know its difficult to do so if someone was to bid, then I could send the money direct to your email address without you incurring paypal charge, at the price, to include postage? I would get a notification from ebay if you closed the auction and then could send the money to your email address via paypal once you had provided it, together with my postal address for sending, much appreciated, cheers

Lets see if he pulls it from Ebay and then emails me, only to find I have gone All Quiet and non-responsive, tee hee, God I must be bored, should have bought a bike that neeeded more than half a days quick check-over

This is why eblag is such a dodgy place..........
For your amusement, you may be shafting a thoroughly nice bloke (or not) and I'm afraid i can't see your reasoning as there is a thoroughly perfect system for reporting items that don't comply with eblags terms and conditions.
Sorry but I just can't see how this fellah is upsetting you.

Have to agree with Oily on this one. The start price isn't extortionate, no reserve on it and it is rare if you haven't got one, but need one. I paid £20 for a similar parts book for a Suzuki model, purely because I couldn't get one anywhere else.
Don't think the guy is intending to rip anyone off - just selling an item that he doesn't want. Isn't that what ebay is for?
And I'm reporting you to ebay as a serial non-payer...... Very Happy

Just to add.....
I think Bimota manuals are pretty crap anyway so this represents excellent value as opposed to spending a lot of money on an original (useless) manual Wink
You could not photocopy and bind this manual yourself for much under a tenner Wink
AND...... no, I have no connection to the seller and think he is providing a sterling service Wink

All points taken and considered. Perhaps its just because I'm such a nice guy and would like other folk to be the same. I have sent out many copies of Workshop manuals, either in electronic versions on CD-rom (be it newletters or manuals) and don't even charge for postage. My gripe, if there is one, is that he is "touting" the copy as an original , stating "rare", and only when pushed, admits its a photocopy, handy I suppose if you can't find one elsewhere, but just wrong if you were expecting, and bid high enough thinking it is an original, that a lot of folk take great credence of. If he was being genuine he could have added the "photocopy" part to the description, but chose not to
Evidently I wouldn't "flout" ebay rules, as I offered to trade outside Laughing Bought some discs recently from a nice man in Germany, a spare set for the DB2, looked fine in the pictures, and he cut me a deal outside of t'bay. They arrived and I thought I'd clean them up before oiling and storing away. Hhhmmm, they were straight and true and 5mm think, no lips or grooves, but all the inner circle of holes had cracks eminating from them, running through to the flip side. Not happy, contacted German man, and he took them back and refunded. Good to find a genuine seller, didn't have to refund but felt sorry for selling what he thought was good, but in the event wasn't.
Peace be to the World, Victor Meldrew moment over, karma restored Laughing

seems this is covered, but, my tupennyhapeth is ... 2 bims has a good point in stating the description to be misleading. Oily and Geekay have an equally valid point in that its fairly obvious that its a photocopy and at that price may be worth having as such. I conclude a draw Wink

Very "mediator" of yourself, and upon questioning he did own up to a copy, so I would concede to a draw, now does anyone want any photcopied Db2/Db4/YB11 workshop manuals????

Pomps says its a draw so do I, doesn't that make it 2-2? Or are you playing for extra time as I'm keen to make a substitution otherwise, and would like to bring on a couple of "ringers"Laughing
