Have you tried a yb11 ? They are a little strange. Footpegs are high and well tucked up, seating position is ' different ' should we say.

not yet, but i have ridden sports bikes for many years. currently using a 600 fazer.

just a couple more questions. if i bring a bike from europe and register it here, i assume i get an age related plate. also, do all bims have a production run number stamped on them, especially the anniversary edition? funds are almost forthcoming so i will be on the lookout for one soon. if anyone knows of a blue/silver coming up for sale, let me know. thanks.

I had to give up my YB11 because my crocked knees couldn't cope with anything more than about an hour's riding. I guess it will come down to your inside leg (you know what I mean). I am just over 6ft with 33" inside leg, and with both knees having had cartilage ops I really struggled. On the other hand, the YB9 Bellaria is luxurious in comparison! Haven't tried a later YB9 SR but footpeg positioning not radically different from the Bellaria. Plus you get a 'proper' pillion seat if that's important. Performance wise the YB9 is no slouch, though you have to use the gearbox a lot (kinda fun actually). Plus it has Japanese electrics which work (well, they do on mine, if we ignore the Italian TDD dashboard, ho hum). By the by, the best ride I ever had (on a motorcycle) was on a YB8 complete with its neoprene rubber 'seat'. No problem with the positioning, and not entirely sure why the YB11 feels so different. Horses for courses... unfortunately no real way of knowing until you sit on one. Good luck, and would be great to get another Bimota owner on board. Dave

thanks for the input, dave. it seems that the seating position is a bit odd, but to be honest, i would probably only do 4-500 miles a year on it. its purely an investment and a bit of fun thrown in! i ride most weekends on a scruffy bike so it wouldnt get much use except on dry days. a tesi 2d would be nice though!

I wouldn't recomend you invest in a bike. Buy it because you want it.

oh, i've always liked bimotas along with harris, spondon, rickman etc. so its not just for show. it will get ridden, but not as much as my normal steed. i've been looking at a cr1000 rickman for a while, but someone came along with more cash.
